General Process and Policies
Where and how do I register for exams?
Go to https://www.webassessor.com. You will be required to create an account.
Once you create your account, you will receive a Test Taker Welcome Email. (You will receive this email when you click on the Send Welcome Email button, too.)
Once you have registered for an exam, you will receive a Transaction Email. This email includes your test authorization code and instructions about testing procedures at the test center. If you paid for the exam on the Webassessor site, this email includes your receipt.
What certification tracks are available?
Associate: v9.x for Data Integration Power Center, Data Quality, and MDM Administrator and Developer
Professional: v9.x for Data Integration Power Center, Data Quality, and MDM Developer. Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) ICP track is coming soon.
How hard are the exams?
Our new exams have been developed to define product competency by job role, where demonstrated performance and outcomes validate your Informatica implementation skills.
What training is recommended before taking an exam?

How do I prepare for an exam?
An exam overview will provided for each exam. The overview lists the topics and objectives of each exam. You should feel confident that you understand and feel prepared for the topics and objectives of each exam. We recommend that you have experience in the field using the product. We also offer on-demand training and an extended lab environment for you to practice your skills. For more information, contact training@informatica.com.
What format should I expect to see on the exam?
Associate level exams are multiple choice, multiple response or true/false questions.
Professional level exams test your ability to design, develop, and deploy a working solution to solve a customer business problem in a virtual environment.
How are the exams scored?
Associate level exams are scored immediately.
Professional level exams are scored after you complete and submit them by an authorized Informatica resource.
Do you have to pass one exam before attempting the next one?
Yes, you must become an Informatica Certified Associate (ICA) before attempting Informatica Certified Professional (ICP) exams.
What happens if I fail an exam?
You will need to reregister for the exam.
Is there an exam re-take policy?
Yes.
How often can I re-take the exam?
You must wait 2 weeks after the exam to take the exam again.
You may take the exam up to three times in one year from the date of your first exam attempt.
You must pay the full exam fee each time you take the exam.
Are there sample questions available?
Not at this time, although sample questions are on our development roadmap for this year.
What should I have with me when I begin my exam?
You must bring two (2) forms of personal identification (ID). Both forms of ID must have your signature, and one of the two forms of ID must have your photo. Valid forms of identification include: driver's license, passport, or equivalent.
Food, laptops, backpacks, notepads, pens, or other personal equipment are NOT allowed when testing.
Can I use reference materials during a certification exam?
No. The use of reference materials (printed or online) and/or discussion with any other individual other than the proctor is not allowed.
What is the passing score?
The passing score is 70%.
When do I receive my exam results?
Immediately after you complete and submit your exam, the Kryterion Online testing system displays your pass/fail status and your score.
Do I get a score report of my exam results?
Yes. All exam candidates, regardless of whether you pass or fail an exam, are given a printed score report that identifies performance within each test domain.
Can I get a detailed report of my exam answers?
No. To maintain the integrity of the exam, the answers to the test questions are NOT provided.
Why am I required to review and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before beginning an exam?
To preserve the security and value of the certification program, you are required to review and accept a Non-Disclosure Agreement at the time of the exam. If you don’t sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement, you cannot take the exam.
How and when will I receive my certificate? Will I receive a hard copy?
After passing your exam you will receive via email a soft copy certificate. We are unable to provide a hard copy of the certificate. Please ensure the email address in your Test Taker account is current and correct.
As an Informatica employee will I have access to an employee registration code?
Employees should contact certification@informatica.com for special instructions.
As an Informatica partner will I have access to a partner discount code to use when registering?
Please contact certification@informatica.com to receive your partner discount code.
Who can I contact to verify that an individual is Informatica certified?

Rescheduling, Cancellations or Refunds
Missing, cancelling or rescheduling your exam appointment
If you want to cancel or reschedule your exam, you must contact Kryterion Online within 72 hours prior to your exam appointment. Canceling or rescheduling an exam less than 72 hours prior is subject to a same-day forfeit exam fee. The same forfeit exam fees apply to exam candidates who do not show up for the exam at their registered time.
Will I receive an invoice for my exam?
The transaction email you receive when registering serves as your transaction receipt.
When does my registration expire?
When you register for an exam you must schedule your exam date. Your registration will expire if you schedule your exam and then do not appear at the scheduled time and location.
Refunds
Refunds are granted when you cancel your exam with at least a 72-hour notice. No other refund requests are granted.
What is the cost of each exam?
Associate level exams: $455 USD
Professional level exams: $1799 USD
Velocity exams: $400 USD
Are there any discounts or training credits allowed in purchasing exams?
Yes, if you purchase your exam with your purchase of an Informatica course we will provide a 5% discount. Eight (8) training or certification credits will be allowed for purchase of one ICA exam and 32 training or certification credits will be allowed for purchase of one ICP exam.
Keeping Your Certification Current
Will I need to recertify?
Yes. After December 31, 2012, all existing Informatica Platform 8.x / 9.x certifications will expire and no longer be recognized.
How can I be recognized in the new Informatica Professional Certification Program?
You may be able to be grandfathered in to the new program. If you are already have an Informatica certification, you may take advantage of two offers that are available for a limited time:
If you have achieved Informatica certification on Informatica Platform 8.x or 9.x before May 15, 2012, you may take the new Associate level exams at a 50% discount. This special offer expires after December 31, 2012.
If you want to progress to the next level up, you may take the standard Informatica Certified Professional exam at a 15% discount if you register for the exam by December 31, 2012.

How does the new Informatica Professional Certification Program affect all v8 certifications?
All existing Informatica Platform 8.x / 9.x certifications will expire and no longer be recognized after December 31, 2012.
How does the new Informatica Professional Certification Program affect all unexpired registrations and exam attempts?
If you have already purchased 8.x or 9.x exams and have not yet taken, you may take the new Associate exam without incurring additional costs.
