This half-day introduction to performance tuning techniques for PowerCenter will use lecture, demos, and discussions.  You will learn how to establish benchmarks as a basis for measuring performance improvements, how to identify different bottlenecks, and how to reduce one bottleneck to find the next one.  You will also learn how to tune source and target systems, plus how to tune workflows, sessions, mappings, and the transformations in a mapping.

This half-day introduction will walk you through an upgrade to PowerCenter 8.5 from versions 6 – 8. Learn how to prepare an existing PowerCenter instance for upgrade to 8.5 and how to perform the upgrade. Also learn how to verify the success of the upgrade and perform necessary post-installation tasks.  Troubleshooting tips will be provided during the course.
