INFORMATICA APPOINTS BARTON S. FOSTER AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF WORLDWIDE MARKETING

Former Oracle, CrossWorlds Software executive joins Informatica to drive global marketing

PALO ALTO, Calif., July 18, 2000 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA) today announced the appointment of Bart Foster as senior vice president of worldwide marketing. With more than 14 years of experience in the enterprise applications market in senior marketing, sales, consulting and business-development roles, Foster's appointment will help Informatica further strengthen its leading position in the e-business analytics software market.

Prior to joining Informatica, Foster was senior vice president of marketing and business development at CrossWorlds Software Inc., a leading player in the e-business infrastructure software market. Previously, he held various executive positions at Oracle Corporation, including vice president of applications and industry marketing with global marketing responsibility for Oracle's enterprise applications business. During his tenure, Oracle's applications business grew from $100 million to $800 million in total annual revenues.

In addition, Foster served as executive vice president of sales and marketing at Connect Inc., an e-business software company. He was also a consultant at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, serving various Fortune 100 companies on technology strategy and execution.
