INFORMATICA DRAWS NEW-ECONOMY VISIONARIES TO SPEAK AT INFORMATIQUE 2000

Participants to include industry analyst Patricia Seybold, Informatica CEO Gaurav Dhillon, Ariba co-founder Paul Touw, Gartner Group's Howard Dresner and Storerunner CIO Rick Mortensen

PALO ALTO, Calif., September 13, 2000 — Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of e-business analytic solutions, today announced the individuals scheduled to speak at Informatica's annual user conference, Informatique 2000, which will take place October 4-7, 2000 in Orlando, Florida.  The theme of this year's conference is "Analytic Solutions for the New Economy."

Leading the roster of speakers is Patricia Seybold, founder and CEO of The Seybold Group, a worldwide consulting and research firm specializing in helping B2B companies with their e-business strategies. Seybold holds the distinction of being one of the visionaries who helped co-author Business 2.0's "10 Driving Principles of the New Economy." Also the author of the best-selling book "Customers.com," Seybold's keynote will focus on business intelligence in the new economy.

In the following keynote address, Informatica CEO Gaurav Dhillon will discuss the changing role of analytics given companies' rapid adoption of the Internet as a business tool and their deployment of e-business applications which have exponentially increased transactional data volumes. Also addressed will be the expansion of information consumers across organizations due to the advent of Web, wireless and voice access to corporate data.

Leading B2B solutions provider, Ariba Inc., will be represented by Paul Touw, who leads Ariba's corporate strategy and business planning organization. As senior vice president and CIO of one of the Internet's largest shopping portals, Rick Mortensen from Storerunner Inc. is charged with supporting all decision support and financial processes for the company as it expands to reach millions of online shoppers. In his keynote, Mortensen will address the opportunities and challenges of running a major e-commerce site, and how the implementation of Informatica's e-business analytic infrastructure contributed to the company's success.

Howard Dresner, vice president and research director for Gartner, covers the business intelligence space and is widely credited with coining the term "business intelligence." Dresner will host a customer panel including participants from eBay, Gateway Computers, Ultramar Diamond Shamrock and CNet.

Informatique 2000 will also present more than 40 break-out sessions hosted by customers, partners and Informatica on topics such as e-business analytics, data warehousing, the evolution of business to e-business, and implementation best practices.
