INFORMATICA APPLICATIONS SELECTED BY PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS TO POWER NEW iANALYTICS SOLUTION
World's largest professional services organization selects Informatica as first core software vendor for cross value chain analytic offering
PALO ALTO, Calif., June 5, 2001 – Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of eBusiness analytic solutions, today announced that it is the first vendor chosen to provide core analytic products for PricewaterhouseCoopers' new iAnalytics (Integrated Analytics) solution. Informatica Applications—the industry's first family of cross value chain analytic applications—has been selected as a key component of PricewaterhouseCoopers' iAnalytics framework of services and technologies. The inclusion of these applications can enable PricewaterhouseCoopers' clients to achieve a 360-degree view of their enterprise and gain business insight that is critical for maximizing business efficiency, performance and profitability.
Informatica Applications combine information from customer relationship management, supply chain management, enterprise resource planning, eBusiness and a broad range of other enterprise systems into industry best-practice metrics for a consistent, consolidated view of the entire business. Armed with such cross value chain insight, decision-makers benefit from more meaningful and personalized views of their business coupled with rapid time-to-insight.
“PricewaterhouseCoopers is a global leader whose vision of cross value chain analytics closely aligns with our own,” said Diaz Nesamoney, president and chief operating officer of Informatica. “The inclusion of Informatica Applications in PricewaterhouseCoopers' iAnalytics solution will provide our joint customers with a proven analytics base for optimizing operating performance and enhancing profitability in a complex and fast-paced business environment.”
“iAnalytics provides a dynamic environment for the aggregation and analysis of information across the entire enterprise value chain,” said Mike Schroeck, managing partner of the Global Data Warehousing and iAnalytics solutions practices, Management Consulting Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers. “As the first family of applications that presents a holistic view of the enterprise, Informatica Applications will help play a critical role in helping our customers leverage strategic information for competitive advantage.”
PricewaterhouseCoopers' new iAnalytics offering combines strategy, process and technology capabilities that incorporate strategic, customer, supply chain, workforce and financial analytics. A range of flexible, tailored iAnalytics services are offered by PricewaterhouseCoopers including overall strategy and planning; an analysis or “diagnostic” of the client's current information environment; business case development; architecture definition; and design and implementation of specific, targeted projects that help provide near-term benefits and return on investment. (See today's release from PricewaterhouseCoopers for additional information on iAnalytics.)
“PricewaterhouseCoopers' iAnalytics is a comprehensive and wide-ranging program that recognizes the essential role of analytics to provide organizations with the agility to respond quickly to rapidly changing business conditions,” said Henry Morris, VP for Applications and Information Access at IDC. “The alliance between PricewaterhouseCoopers and Informatica combines the practical knowledge gained through successful analytical implementations with the infrastructure and application software that captures this knowledge in a form so that it can be leveraged across the value chain.”
The central role that Informatica Applications play in the iAnalytics solution further deepens the strategic relationship that exists between Informatica and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In April of 2000, the two companies initiated a strategic alliance for the joint development, sale and support of end-to-end analytic solutions. At that time, PricewaterhouseCoopers also made an equity investment in Informatica.
A tightly integrated family, Informatica Applications includes Informatica eCRM for providing consolidated views of customers and their behaviors; Informatica eBusiness Operations for analyzing business performance and Informatica eProcurement for enhancing the effectiveness of supply chain operations. In March of 2001, Informatica also added Informatica eMarketplace, which is focused on optimizing the use of online exchanges and auctions.
