INFORMATICA COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF MAINFRAME DATA INTEGRATION LEADER STRIVA CORPORATION

Acquisition broadens Informatica's enterprise data integration capabilities with mainframe connectivity and patented change data capture technology

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., September 29, 2003 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration and business intelligence software, today announced it has completed the acquisition of privately held Striva Corporation, an award-winning provider of mainframe data integration solutions. This acquisition extends Informatica's leadership in comprehensive enterprise data integration and business intelligence with Striva's innovative mainframe technology for high-speed bulk data movement and industry-leading solution for real-time change data capture in legacy and non-legacy environments.

According to recent research by Giga, a wholly owned subsidiary of Forrester Research Inc., the acquisition of Striva is further evidence of Informatica's commitment to deliver the most comprehensive data integration and business intelligence solutions.  The research, which can be viewed here, noted that Informatica's recently deepened OEM arrangement with the leading data cleansing vendor, Firstlogic, and its announcement of a new enterprise-scope metadata management product, SuperGlue, combined with this acquisition of sophisticated mainframe integration, all move Informatica in a very positive direction.

“Striva's award-winning technology further enhances Informatica's ability to offer the best platform for integrating, visualizing and tracking any type of data, in any quantity, to and from any platform, in any timeframe, and for any enterprise data requirement,” said Gaurav Dhillon, president and CEO of Informatica. “Striva's proven excellence in mainframe data integration and unique solution for change data capture further extend our end-to-end enterprise data integration platform at a time when large enterprises are relying more than ever on their growing amounts of mainframe data. We welcome Striva's employees and customers to the Informatica family.”
