General Pre-Exam Information
Where can I find information on the new Informatica Certified Professional Program?
Program information, frequently asked questions, scheduled availability for new exams and exam overviews, known as Skill Set Inventories, can be found under “Certification Guides” on the Informatica University Communities page.
How do I schedule an Informatica Certification Exam?
Before scheduling your certification exam you must first purchase an exam voucher code. You may redeem this exam voucher code during checkout while scheduling your exam. To purchase an exam voucher code, please go to our Informatica University Portal where you may select and purchase your exam using a major credit card or prepaid purchase credits. If you have a discount code you may enter it in our portal when purchasing the exam.
After your purchase is complete you will receive your exam voucher code by email with instructions on how to schedule the time and location most convenient for you. You will be able to choose from two delivery options:
- Onsite Proctored (at a Kryterion testing center)
- Secure Wrapper Proctored (online proctored that you may take at home or work)
Please note: you will need to create your test-taker account through Account Setup. There is no fee to do this.
How do I obtain my discount code?
Contact certification@informatica.com to confirm your eligibility and level of discount. You will be provided with an exam discount code to use when purchasing your exam.
Will I be able to test online?
Yes. When scheduling your exam choose Secure Wrapper Proctored (online proctored that you can take at home or work).
Prior to when your Secure Wrapper Proctored exam is scheduled, you must follow the steps below to prepare your computer:
Step 1 — Install the Sentinel program. If you have not installed Sentinel or are unsure if you have, click the button below to install the Sentinel program.

Step 2 — Create your Biometric Profile. If you have not completed your Biometric Profile, a button will appear below. You must complete the Biometric Profile prior to taking a Secure Wrapper Proctored test.

Step 3 —Launch your exam. You should now be able to either register for a new exam or launch an already registered exam once the launch button below becomes enabled. The launch button will become enabled based on the scheduled time of the exam.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- To take your Secure Wrapper Proctored exam, you will be required to use an external webcam. Your laptop’s internal webcam is not supported.
- Only English keyboards will support the Secure Wrapper Proctored exam. If you are using a non-English standard keyboard, ensure you are able to take your online exam successfully by visiting the Microsoft's Support Website for instructions on how to modify your keyboard.
- If you experience technical difficulties during set-up, launch, or while taking your Secure Wrapper Proctored exam, please contact KRYTERION Technical Support at 1-877-313-2008 or 1-602-659-4679.
Exam-Specific Information
Our new exams have been developed to define product competency by job role, where demonstrated performance and outcomes validate required Informatica implementation skills and core competency on a standard project implementation.

- An explanation of the exam’s format
- A breakdown of the topics and concepts tested
- A description of how the topics and concepts are weighted in the exam

Exam Preparation
We recommend that you prepare by reviewing the relevant exam skill set inventory. This document provides suggested training as well as topics and concepts you will be tested on.
Training in Velocity Best Practices and Implementation Methodology, along with experience in standard project implementation, is also strongly recommended before attempting these exams.

Exam Administration and Policies
What should I have with me when I begin my exam?
You must bring two (2) forms of personal identification (ID). Both forms of ID must have your signature, and one of the two forms of ID must have your photo. Valid forms of identification include: driver's license, passport, or equivalent. Food, laptops, backpacks, notepads, pens, or other personal equipment are NOT allowed when testing.
Can I use reference materials during a certification exam?
No. The use of reference materials (printed or online) and/or discussion with any individual other than the proctor is not allowed.
What is the passing score?
The passing score is 70%.
How many questions are on the Informatica Certified Specialist (ICS) exams?
The ICS exam will present you with 70 questions. You will have up to 90 minutes to complete the exam.
When do I receive my exam results?
Once you complete and submit your exam, the Kryterion Online testing system will display and then email your overall pass/fail status, specific topic area performance, and your final score.
Can I get a detailed report of my exam answers?
No. In order to maintain the integrity of the exam, the answers to the test questions are not provided.
Why am I required to review and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before beginning an exam?
To preserve the security and value of the Informatica Certified Professional program, all candidates are required to review and accept a Non-Disclosure Agreement at the time of the exam. If you don’t sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement, you will not be able to take the exam.
How and when will I receive my certificate? Will I receive a hard copy?
After passing your exam you will receive via email a soft copy your certificate and the Informatica Certification logo. We are unable to provide a hard copy of the certificate. Please ensure that the email address in your test-taker account is current and correct.
Must I pass one exam before attempting the next?
Although you may take the certification exam for Velocity Implementation Methodologies at any time, you must become an Informatica Certified Expert (ICE) before being recognized as an Informatica Certified Master (ICM).
What happens if I fail an exam?
You will need to re-register for the exam. You get one exam attempt per registration, and you must pay the exam fee each time you register.
What is the minimum time period before I can retake an exam?
You must wait two (2) weeks after an exam before you can retake it.
What is the maximum number of times that I can retake an exam?
You may take an exam up to three (3) times within one year from the date of your first exam attempt.
Is there an employee registration code for exams?
Employees should contact certification@informatica.com for special instructions.
As an Informatica partner will I have a partner discount code to use when registering?

Exam Rescheduling, Cancellations, Refunds, and Pricing
What is the policy on missing, cancelling, or rescheduling my exam appointment?
To cancel or reschedule your exam, you must contact Kryterion Online at least 72 hours prior to your exam appointment. Canceling or rescheduling an exam less than 72 hours prior is subject to a same-day forfeiture of the exam fee. The same exam fee forfeiture applies to test takers who miss a scheduled exam appointment.

Will I receive an invoice for my exam?
The transaction email you receive when registering serves as your transaction receipt.
When does my registration expire?
Your registration will expire if you schedule your exam and then do not appear at the scheduled time and location.
What is the policy on version 8 exams that I have already paid for?
If have paid for prior exams or have remaining attempts on exams that you’ve failed, you will receive a 100% discount for the equivalent version 9.x exam. For your unique exam voucher code please contact certification@informatica.com.
What is the policy on refunds?
Refunds are granted when you cancel your exam at least 72 hours prior to your exam appointment. No other refund requests are granted.
