Informatica Further Expands OEM Partnerships Into Cloud Computing

Data integration recognized as critical enabler for enterprises both within and beyond the firewall

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., November 04, 2008 -  Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading independent provider of data integration software and services, today announced it is continuing to add to its OEM business both within traditional enterprise software solutions as well as within leading cloud computing services.  Informatica now has over 50 OEM partners; SaaS and Cloud Computing vendors now comprise over ten percent of the OEM partnerships including Responsys, Revionics, Zyme Solutions, SignalDemand and iPartners.

“The uptake of Informatica technology by Cloud Computing providers underscores these vendors’ urgent need to integrate their offerings with data, systems and processes inside and outside the enterprise, as well as the ease with which Informatica fits into the on-demand world,” said Harry Gould, senior vice president, Worldwide Alliances, Informatica. “We have an extensive track record of having our technology successfully embedded in traditional applications, and also of working alongside SaaS vendors ‘in the cloud.’ In either case, OEMs turn to us as the only neutral provider with near-universal data integration capabilities right out of the box, proven to help companies more rapidly and cost-effectively launch high-value end solutions.”

Why Informatica for OEMs
Informatica gives enterprise software and Cloud Computing services a comprehensive, unified and open platform for accessing, discovering, integrating and ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of data from virtually any business system, in almost any format-including structured, unstructured and semi-structured data. The Informatica platform is further distinguished by its unique platform-neutrality; codeless development; extensive reusability for build once, deploy anywhere implementations; and high-performance, high-availability architecture for mission-critical deployments.

“Manufacturers depend on SignalDemand to help them make key decisions on price, product mix and production. Informatica’s data integration technology allows us to provide our customers with the right information at their fingertips,” said Rip Gerber, senior vice president at SignalDemand. “We use the Informatica platform as the data integration backbone of our solution and are pleased to work with Informatica to ensure our customers always have the most reliable and trusted data for their business needs.”

Some of Informatica’s new on demand-based OEM partners in 2008 include Responsys, Revionics and Zyme Solutions, with existing on demand-based partners Signal Demand and iPartners renewing their OEM agreements. New enterprise software vendor OEM partners in 2008 include ACL and KCOM/JAMiP. The broad range of use cases represented by these OEM partners reflect the comprehensive capabilities, broad utility and power of the Informatica data integration platform:

  • Transactional data integration – Providing audit analytics and monitoring software to the audit, controls and financial communities, ACL has incorporated the Informatica data integration platform into its ACL AuditExchange offering so that transactional data can be extracted, transformed and integrated across a multitude of sources for analysis by end customers.
  • B2B data exchange – Providing price and promotion optimization technology to retailers and distributors, Revionics is deploying Informatica B2B Data Exchange software to help power its on demand pricing, promotion and markdown optimization application for retailers. A critical component of Revionics’ core offering, the Informatica software will receive complex data, parse the multitude of formats, and transform and load the now actionable information into Revionics’ back-end repository.
  • Business Intelligence – Delivering a suite of enhanced call center technology JAMiP, part of the KCOM Group Plc, is using Informatica to enable business users to extract meaning from disparate data types and sources,  interpreting them through reports, alerts and dashboards. The use of Informatica provides substantial competitive differentiation for JAMiP, and ensures clients have access to trusted data and are able to visualize business benefit through the use of Contact Center Reporting.
  • Data quality assurance – A leading outsourced service provider, Zyme Solutions will leverage the Informatica data integration platform to help provide, hosted data cleansing, enrichment, validation and analysis services to help global technology companies integrate their data seamlessly with mission critical IT environments, giving customers further assurance that their data is in ‘good hands’.
  • Data migration – Providing optimization software for manufacturers, SignalDemand uses the Informatica data integration platform and its powerful Data Profiling option to explore and initially load customer data into its SaaS-based application, as well as to power the nightly data updates that underpin the reports and analyses that SignalDemand provides to its customers.

“The use of Informatica as a reliable, timely and accurate data access and delivery mechanism for our on demand performance management solution has helped both our clients and our own corporate performance,” said Robert Lasher, CEO, iPartners, a leading provider of on demand management information and analysis solutions to the property and causality insurance industry. “We chose the Informatica data integration platform to enable our clients to integrate complex files containing business process data into our repository in order to power web-based performance analysis on metrics provided by clients. Informatica understands the requirements of cloud computing by providing the requisite near-universal data access capabilities and easy development to help streamline the on-boarding of clients, and has saved us incalculable time, money and effort in trying to develop such capabilities in house.”
