Informatica Positioned In Leaders Quadrant For Data Integration Tools

Report By Leading Analyst Firm Recognizes Ability To Execute and Completeness Of Vision

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., December 04, 2009 -  Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the world’s number one independent provider of data integration software, announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned Informatica in the Leaders quadrant in the 2009 Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools report.1 In June, Informatica was also positioned in the leaders’ quadrant in the 2009 Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools report.2

According to the authors of the new report, “Leaders in the data integration tools market are front-runners in the convergence of single purpose tools into an offering that supports a range of data delivery styles. These vendors are strong in the more traditional data integration patterns such as ETL, they support newer patterns such as data federation, and provide capabilities that enable data services in the context of SOA. Leaders have significant mind share in the market, and resources skilled with their tools are readily available. These vendors establish market trends, to a large degree, by providing new functional capabilities in their products, and by identifying new types of business problems where data integration tools can bring significant value.  Examples of deployments that span multiple projects and types of use cases are commonplace in their customer base.”

In November 2009, Informatica further advanced its leadership position in data integration and data quality with the introduction of Informatica 9, expanding functionality around pervasive data quality, SOA-based data services and Business-IT Collaboration that is critical to ensuring success in today’s global economy.  The versatility of the Informatica Platform provides IT with the agility required to de-risk projects and accelerate time to value for an ever widening circle of strategic information initiatives.

“In my opinion, Gartner has recognized the power of the Informatica Platform to deliver substantial business value to market leading companies who manage data as a strategic asset,” said Girish Pancha, executive vice president, Data Integration Products, Informatica. “During the past year, Informatica has continued to deliver comprehensive data integration solutions to nearly 4,000 customers around the globe. And with Informatica’s newest offering, Informatica 9, we continue to be at the forefront of our industry in delivering innovative data integration capabilities in the market.”
