Meetic Brings Lovebirds Together By Completing Post-Merger Integration Of Match.Com 40 Percent Faster With Informatica

Europe’s Leading Online Dating Agency Standardizes on Open, Reusable IT Infrastructure to Transparently Migrate Millions of User Profiles from 15 Countries in Only Four Months

PARIS, France and REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 16, 2010 -  Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the world’s number one independent provider of data integration software, today announced that Meetic, the number one European online dating agency, has completed the post-merger integration of Match.com 40 percent faster than it could have with its previous solution by using the Informatica Platform. Meetic, which acquired Match.com’s European operations in 2009, has standardized on Informatica’s open, reusable data integration platform to transparently migrate millions of user profiles from 15 countries in just four months. By accelerating this migration activity, Informatica is helping Meetic rapidly realize the synergies of the merger, improve agility and increase competitiveness.

Prior to the acquisition of Match.com’s European operations, Meetic was relying on a slow, labor-intensive home-grown data integration solution. When the opportunity arose to acquire Match.com, it was apparent that the aggressive merger timescales could only be met if Meetic replaced its existing integration toolset with an open, flexible, high performance data integration solution. A decision was taken to quickly deploy the Informatica Platform including Informatica PowerCenter Real Time Edition and Informatica Data Explorer, based on the proven nature of the Informatica solution, its universal data access, and the alignment it provides between the business and IT.

“Informatica was a crucial asset in the successful merger of Match.com’s European operations, allowing Meetic to access and integrate Match.com data in real-time and perform a large-scale migration entirely transparently,” said Olivier Siegwart, chief information officer, Meetic. “Informatica will now become the standard integration platform for Meetic, supporting both future acquisition opportunities and our data warehouse strategy.”

During a four month period, Meetic migrated millions of internet dating profiles, photographs, emails and other content from the Match.com Oracle databases in Dallas, Texas, to the Meetic data center in Paris, France. Data from 15 local websites, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, as well as 11 languages were quickly transformed―the entire integration operation was conducted transparently to end users and without interruption to the online dating service, which was crucial.

Informatica’s data migration solution was able to decrease the risk and minimize the errors inherent in Meetic’s data migration project. Simultaneously, it reduced the cost of the data migration from the Dallas database by automating processes, improving business and IT collaboration and incorporating proven best practices. Informatica PowerCenter Real Time Edition provided the capability to access, integrate and deliver the data in real-time, easily and cost-effectively. Informatica Data Explorer was used to obtain a complete and accurate picture of the content, quality and structure of the data, regardless of where it resided.

“Informatica is proud to welcome Meetic as yet another customer turning to Informatica to support their merger and acquisition activity,” said Girish Pancha, executive vice president, Data Integration, Informatica. “Mergers are typically fraught with risk and this undisputed leader in European online dating is using the reusable Informatica IT infrastructure to quickly consolidate its Match.com business, mitigate that risk and more quickly drive revenues.”
