Gartner just published its 2020 Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Solutions, recognizing Informatica as a Leader for the thirteenth time. As someone who has worked for Informatica on every Data Quality Magic Quadrant since 2006 (the first year it published), I have seen the data landscape evolve over time. There are now more data users, more data domains, more data sources, and more eco-systems with data distributed across on-premise, cloud, and multi-clouds. And the data is now supporting more complex business processes and an ever-increasing variety of use cases. As an example, the use of data to support artificial intelligence in the fight against Covid-19.

The one constant is the need for data that can be trusted and is fit for purpose. Whether it is for cloud-based digital transformation, to drive new innovations, improve customer experience and retention, or enabling data democratization for data analytics—data quality plays a pivotal role in the success of these initiatives.

Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

What does it take to be a Leader in the Magic Quadrant based on completeness of vision and ability to execute? Is it a relentless focus on innovation? Is it a laser focus on customer service and success? Is it a deep understanding of the market and customer needs? Is it delivering value to the customer? We believe that the answer is all of these and more. Let’s look at some of the ways Informatica has maintained a Leader placement on both axes.

Data Quality for Everyone, Everywhere

As companies transition to the cloud, they need cloud-native data quality. Informatica is the first and only micro-services based multi-tenant cloud data quality solution integrated with the industry’s leading iPaaS in the market. And with Informatica Data Quality running natively in the cloud, there are no upgrades or installation to worry about.

Big data fuels innovation by revealing transformative business insights from very large and disparate data. Improving the quality of this data gives you the confidence to trust these insights. Informatica Data Engineering Quality connects to and runs natively in environments important to data engineering such as cloud data lakes.

Managing data quality can be a big job that involves repetitive work. To accelerate time to value Informatica has built AI-powered intelligence and automation into our data quality and governance solutions:

  • Use Natural Language Processing (NLP) to infer and measure data quality from business rules
  • Identify data quality issues within lineage through maps and overlays
  • Apply data quality rules consistently and automatically for all new and existing data

And we continue to raise the bar with our innovative data quality and governance solutions, working to ensure our customers can achieve their data-driven digital transformations objectives faster.

Real Customers, Real Value

Having the best data quality and governance solutions on the planet is of no use if your customers are unable to see value. That is why Informatica has a laser focus on customer service and success. As part of the Gartner Data Quality Tools survey, we submitted many customer references to share their views and experience with our data quality and governance solutions. We firmly believe that the trust and confidence they have placed in us was instrumental in where we are positioned in the Data Quality Solutions Magic Quadrant. They are the proof we are delivering on completeness of vision and ability to execute. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their time and participation.

We recently launched a new eBook showcasing the success our customers are delivering with our data quality and governance solutions. But let me share some highlights here:

At CHRISTUS Health, relevant information was scattered across an array of siloed applications and EMRs, making it hard to aggregate and govern data—and validate data quality. Within a few months of the system going live, they realized over $500,000 in savings.

A Leading Financial Group is using Informatica solutions to automate processes, cleanse, and standardize financial data from source systems prior to ingesting into an AWS data lake. They were able to generate $45 million in external partner cost savings and reduced report generation time by 90% with a data enablement platform.

Puma needed a single trusted view of product information for global e-commerce and to unify their customer experience. High quality and rich product information helped increase sales by 10% in 9 months with greater agility and faster time to market.

With Informatica Data Quality, Winsupply was able to improve data accuracy and simplify product assortment process for suppliers. This resulted in a 10% increase in online sales and reduced the workload by 50% for data stewards.

I would encourage you to read the success story eBook or visit our customer success page where you can read and hear from many of our customers who are seeing real business value and a great ROI. Our CLAIREview Intelligent Data Summit for Data Governance and Privacy (now available on demand) also features a number of customers including CVS, L.A. Care, State Farm, Eli Lilly, and Symcor, speaking in depth about their journeys.
