Informatica Marketplace Opens For Business

Over 50 High Caliber Community-Developed Solutions Now Available

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 22, 2010 -  Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA) the world’s number one independent leader in data integration software, today announced the opening of the Informatica Marketplace. The Marketplace connects buyers and sellers to share data integration solutions within an open and comprehensive ecosystem of more than 100,000 active users.

Watch Informatica CIO Tony Young demonstrate the Informatica Marketplace

The Informatica Marketplace will enable Informatica customers to lower even further their cost of deployment and speed time-to-market. Using pre-built components, customers will not have to manually code solutions, but can leverage the knowledge of the community to help deliver a specific data integration solution.

The Informatica Marketplace will provide vendors, partners and individual developers with a central location to buy and sell assets and solutions called “Blocks”. A Block can be developed for on-premise or cloud use and may include data models, mappings, mapplets, tools, utilities, packaged services, methodologies, white papers, connectors and other useful resources. Users will be able to browse Blocks for industry specific solutions or platform use cases.

Examples of Blocks now in the Marketplace include:

  • AnalytixDS Mapping Manager
  • Appfluent Visibility
  • Cisco Tidal Enterprise Scheduler
  • Informatica – Value added Blocks and cloud services
  • Interface Development Parameter Wizard

Solutions Certified by Informatica
All Blocks contributed to the Marketplace will be evaluated for quality and value before becoming available. To obtain a ‘Seal of Approval,’ third-party Blocks hosted in the Informatica Marketplace will undergo lifecycle testing and validation of up to 30 days by the Informatica Global Customer Support organization.

The Informatica Marketplace offers solutions in eight technology categories: Enterprise Data Integration, Data Quality, B2B Data Exchange, Application Information Lifecycle Management, Complex Event Processing, Cloud Data Integration, Ultra Messaging and Master Data Management. Developers build on these technologies to deliver reusable custom data integration and data quality Blocks.

Advantages of the Marketplace
One of the many benefits of the Marketplace is for buyers to easily find and purchase pre-built or customized solutions. If a Block is not found, buyers can request that a solution be built or customized to their needs.

Additionally, buyers can expect:

  • Faster time to market with pre-built solutions
  • Greater access to a community of developers/companies that can assist them
  • Expanded knowledge and visibility into new solutions
  • Extended capacity by requesting solutions in a bid scenario

Sellers will develop and market innovative components and solutions for the installed customer base and will have:

  • Access to 100,000 Informatica community members in more than 100 countries
  • Extended sales and market reach
  • Increased visibility as Informatica promotes the Marketplace through its marketing efforts
  • A growing and evolving Marketplace as Informatica is committed to reinvesting Marketplace revenues into further development

Marketplace Contest
Informatica is currently holding a contest for all interested parties to develop new Blocks. The contest runs until July 30. The Grand Prize winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to the upcoming Informatica World in Washington, D.C, November, 2-4. The winner will earn billing on the main stage to showcase their Block and a special three month promotion on the Marketplace site.
