Informatica Leader to be Honored at the YWCA Silicon Valley 36th Annual Tribute to Women Awards

YWCA Silicon Valley to Recognize Suchitra Narayen Amongst Women of Distinction at Virtual Event on September 10

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 7, 2020Informatica®, the enterprise cloud data management leader, today announced Suchitra Narayen, VP, Commercial Legal, North America, will be honored at the 36th Annual Tribute to Women Awards being held virtually on September 10. The Awards recognize the achievements of women who have excelled in their fields and have made significant contributions to the Silicon Valley through their dedication and leadership. Tribute to Women salutes corporations whose policies and practices encourage women’s leadership and promote equal advancement opportunities for women of diverse backgrounds.

“We couldn’t be prouder of Suchitra to be recognized with this distinct honor. Her leadership at Informatica, both within her legal team and with all stakeholders in the sales process, has been truly exemplary,” stated Brad Lewis, SVP and Chief Legal Officer, Informatica.

The Tribute to Women Awards has been shining a powerful light on women leaders and the companies that employ them, to date over 1,300 women have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in the workplace and beyond.

Although they hold almost 52 percent of all professional-level jobs, American women lag substantially behind men when it comes to their representation in leadership positions. In 2014, women were just 20 percent of executives, senior officers, and management in U.S. high-tech industries. YWCA’s goal is to cultivate a Silicon Valley where women are not only welcomed into leadership positions and STEM fields but respected as well. YWCA programs provide pathways to well-paying, growth careers through youth engagement in STEM and removing barriers for families in accessing quality early learning and school age opportunities.

Informatica addresses diversity through a focused, proactive approach to attracting, developing, promoting, and retaining diverse talent. To attract more diverse candidates, Informatica runs social media campaigns to reach a gender-diverse candidate pool, evaluates job descriptions to remove gender bias, and assembles interview panels that include gender-diverse interviewers and reflect generational balance. Informatica’s leadership believes that it isn’t enough to have more diverse candidates and new hires; beyond its recruitment pipeline, Informatica is also focusing on inclusion, growth, and development once candidates have become employees. Informatica offers rich curriculum including mandated unconscious bias training for all employees and integrates such training into career and leadership develop programs. Additionally, the company conducts ongoing gender pay gap analyses, tracks and monitors internal transfers and promotions, monitors attrition, and co-hosts multiple diversity and inclusion events annually in each region.
