Weatherford International supports the sustainable development and production of oil and gas resources, wherever they exist. Weatherford was challenged with a lack of alignment between key data systems which reduced end-to-end traceability for visibility and decision making. These disparate systems made it difficult to define and manage metrics because everyone had their own version of the truth. Weatherford undertook a transformational initiative to implement Data Governance (DG) and Master Data Management across the organization. With Informatica solutions, Weatherford was able to define a repeatable process for governing master data within the organization. That process will be leveraged for all data domains and across multiple functional areas. Weatherford also adapted and incorporated existing silo processes within in the DG processes, positively impacting additional systems and functional areas by simplifying reporting and consumption. Operations and Finance are now beginning to speak the same language which has reduced the inefficiencies of miscommunication and translations between systems and functional areas, thus improving reporting efficiency.
