IDC recently released their first IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Cloud Integration Software and Services (iPaaS) 2023 Vendor Assessment1. I’m honored to report that Informatica was named a Leader.

The report is a comprehensive evaluation of cloud integration software and services (also referred to as integration platform as a service [iPaaS]) provided by both pure-play and platform vendors. It includes an assessment of critical capabilities, such as data and application integration management, artificial intelligence (AI), low-code development and process automation. Other factors included are roadmap, pricing model, go-to-market plan, architecture, innovation and customer satisfaction.

iPaaS: One Tool for End-to-End Integration and Automation

In today’s high-pressure digital economy, organizations are in search of the most time- and cost-effective ways to tackle their data and application integration and automation challenges. And let’s face it, there are many options to consider: customized hand-coded integrations, on-premises integration tools, proprietary platform-specific integration tools and a cloud-based integration and process automation platform such as iPaaS.

Because it allows organizations to drive integration and automation strategies in a single platform, iPaaS adoption is seeing tremendous growth: the iPaaS market is projected to grow to USD 13.9 billion by 20262.

We can see why. iPaaS orchestrates and automates data flows from multiple sources at virtually any desired latency. It also seamlessly takes care of transforming data, managing APIs and automating processes with its low-code capability. This helps control costs and accelerate time to market — must-haves in a dynamic, crowded landscape.

What Makes Informatica a Leader in the iPaaS Market?

Informatica iPaaS, a service of the Intelligent Data Management Cloud™ (IDMC), supports virtually all data management patterns such as data integration, API management and application integration, master data management (MDM), data quality, data catalog and data governance. It allows seamless integration of data and disparate applications across cloud and on-premises environments. This empowers organizations to rapidly design automated workflows and integration patterns with easy-to-use, self-service wizard builders. We believe this innovation in data management, integration and automation make Informatica a leader in the iPaaS market.

Informatica iPaaS is built on six core pillars:

  1. End-to-End Automation

The IDC MarketScape report noted, “Informatica's Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) has matured beyond simple connecting of applications and data sources to robust, end-to-end connectivity automation.” As a service of IDMC, Informatica iPaaS helps organizations drive end-to-end automation by managing large amounts of data and events in real time. Organizations can design process automation workflows and integration patterns with out-of-the-box integrations and simple drag and drop, low-code workflow automation capabilities. This helps boost developer productivity and agility so you can reach your digital transformation goals faster.

  1. Artificial Intelligence

Informatica iPaaS delivers a highly productive data management environment powered by CLAIRE®, an AI engine that provides recommendations to automate and accelerate integration and data management tasks. The AI capabilities provide enriched and trusted data to be used for various use cases, such as analytics, data mapping and workflows for ecommerce product recommendations, order to cash, supply chain and chatbot responses. CLAIRE’s AI-powered recommendations enable faster decision making, which is critical in a competitive environment.

  1. Low-Code / No-Code Platform

Informatica iPaaS is a low-code / no-code solution that empowers even nontechnical users to easily configure automation and integration tasks. This capability allows your teams to create process workflows and design integration patterns with simple mouse clicks or drag and drop with an intuitive UI. Informatica iPaaS also empowers organizations to drive connectivity with out-of-the-box templates and accelerators.

  1. Security

Informatica implements security as a design principle and offers a high level of scale and trust. Customer data and workload security are considered at every step during the product development life cycle. This level of security is achieved through multiple, overlapping layers of the infrastructure stack and in virtually every aspect of accessing and processing integrations. Informatica has also received multiple third-party attestations, memberships and industry certifications, including GDPR, FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC, etc.

  1. Real-Time Visibility

Informatica iPaaS offers organizations real-time visibility into virtually all integrations, which drives more holistic and efficient operations. This complete view of data and application integrations, APIs, processes and ecosystems provides a “big picture” of the overall health of the business. This allows for higher business productivity, efficient business processes and tighter data security.

  1. API Integration and Lifecycle Management

Informatica iPaaS provides a codeless API integration capability, which eliminates the need for complex hand coding. Instead, it has a drag-and-drop UI for rapid API integration. API lifecycle management capabilities provided by Informatica iPaaS enable organizations to manage virtually all APIs (third-party and internal) that are being used in the business environment. This includes business processes that span multiple clouds and on-premises systems within and outside firewalls. This helps boost workflow automation and provide data integrity.

A Commitment to Continuous Innovation

The IDC MarketScape report noted, “Having been in the data market for a longer time than many of its competitors, Informatica has among the broadest support for legacy protocols while balancing that with newer protocols that have emerged as organizations have moved to the cloud.” We believe this recognition is a testament to our longevity and the strength of our product innovation. We are steadfast in our commitment to helping customers drive business outcomes by bringing their data to life. And we’re looking forward to delivering more innovations in the months and years to come.
