The Benefits of Cloud Data Integration Elastic—now on Microsoft Azure
Today most organizations are using cloud to accelerate and transform their business. Informatica is helping organizations manage their data in the cloud with the next generation of integration platform as a service (iPaaS), Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS). IICS provides a complete, modular, end-to-end solution for managing data in hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments. Engineered to scale and deliver data at the speed of business, IICS focuses on data integration rather than infrastructure management and maintenance.
Cloud solutions initially focused on managing infrastructure hardware. Recent innovations with serverless computing—an execution engine that’s managed dynamically for scalability and performance—extended the benefits of the cloud, freeing organizations from having to know anything about the hardware or the operating system.
In 2019, Informatica launched its first serverless offering on cloud, Cloud Data Integration Elastic (CDI-Elastic), on AWS. Now, we’re excited to announce the general availability of CDI-Elastic on Microsoft Azure. CDI-Elastic with CLAIRE (Informatica’s AI engine) opens a new paradigm for organizations, enabling them to reach higher levels of productivity and scale. CDI-Elastic provides a serverless experience, allowing a data engineering team to focus on data flows, application logic, and data integration.
Using the familiar Informatica Cloud Data Integration interface, you can now develop and run your mappings’ reading or writing into Microsoft Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2 or Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly SQL Data Warehouse) in a serverless fashion. CDI-Elastic uses Spark for large-scale data processing and Azure Kubernetes Service as the orchestrator.

Free Up Your Developers With Built-In Services
With CDI-Elastic, there’s no need to reserve resources or long-running VMs for data processing. You pay only for the time it takes for your mappings or tasks to be executed. In addition, you can automatically scale your Informatica mappings up and down. Built-in automated high availability and fault tolerance mean you don’t need to architect for these services.
CDI-Elastic reduces the time spent on activities that aren’t central to the business by freeing developers from infrastructure provisioning and management. As you onboard new data sources or your data volume increases, CDI-Elastic can scale up and down on demand, so you don’t need to plan infrastructure for high data-volume-processing scenarios; you pay only for the resources that you use.
