The Information Difference Recognizes Informatica as a Technology and Market Leader in MDM

2015 Report: Informatica Tops All Other Market Leaders in Technology, Ranks in Top Tier in Customer Satisfaction

Redwood City, Calif. – July 27, 2015 – Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA), the world’s number one independent provider of data integration software, today announced that for the second consecutive year it has been positioned by leading researcher The Information Difference Ltd as the clear leader in the Master Data Management (MDM) industry. The report, titled MDM Landscape Q2 2015, assesses 39 MDM vendors on their technology and market strength, and is available at

Informatica is the only vendor in this year’s report with a leadership position in both technology and market strength, and as a result places in the topmost right corner of the MDM vendor landscape as described by The Information Difference. In addition, Informatica was once again acknowledged as being among the vendors with the most satisfied customers.

According to The Information Difference report, “The master data management market in the past year showed continued growth, confirming it as one of the fastest growing enterprise software markets. The estimate that the market for MDM software was worth $1.2 billion.”

The Information Difference also observes, “In the current market we see a significant trend towards a second generation of MDM projects. Many companies that started one or two specific initiatives some years ago in particular domains or business unit are now pushing for a more joined up approach whereby the scope of the master data initiative is expanded.”

“Informatica’s continued innovation and investment in MDM is reflected in our improved position this year on The Information Difference’s technology axis, making us the only vendor at the forefront in both technology and market strength,” said Rob Karel, vice president of product strategy, Informatica Quality Solutions, Informatica. “Equally significant is the continued positive feedback from our customer base, which is successfully using Informatica MDM – and its multi-domain and integrated workflow capabilities – across an expanding range of use cases, from powering enterprise-wide single customer and supplier views to robust product information management to compliance.”

“Mastering data across today’s global organizations is a complex and challenging undertaking, but one with off-the-charts business rewards,” said Andy Hayler, president and chief executive officer, The Information Difference. “Informatica’s large base of pleased customers, combined with its technology and market leadership, make the company a formidable competitor in the MDM lists. Whether addressing a specific MDM domain, or moving aggressively to master as much corporate data as possible, an organization would do well to evaluate what Informatica has to offer.”
