i2 Expands Strategic OEM Partnership With Informatica
Broadens long-standing OEM relationship to embed Informatica's real-time data integration technology and enable co-distribution across Asia-Pacific by NEC
INFORMATICA WORLD 2005, Washington,
June 6, 2005—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration software, today announced a renewed and expanded OEM partnership agreement with i2 Technologies, Inc. (OTC: ITWH). With the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform already embedded in the i2 Supply Chain Operation Services (SCOS) solution, the new agreement adds PowerCenter's real-time capabilities to i2 SCOS, extends the companies' existing OEM agreement by three years, and opens the door for PowerCenter to be co-distributed across Asia-Pacific by NEC Corporation.
i2, a leading provider of demand-driven supply chain solutions, in the fourth quarter of 2004 expanded its business alliance with NEC, one of the world's leading providers of enterprise solutions, to co-deliver supply chain management solutions in Japan, China and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region. Informatica PowerCenter has been a core component of these jointly delivered i2 supply chain solutions since 2001, providing a scalable platform for customers to integrate large volumes of data from multiple disparate sources.
"We have long had a successful partnership with Informatica, helping joint customers leverage the best-in-class data integration platform along with our leading supply chain solutions to improve business agility," said Surku Sinnadurai, i2 chief information officer. "The extension of our relationship and the addition of PowerCenter's real-time functionality to our SCOS architecture can help customers further synchronize business processes across supply chains, enjoy up-to-the-second visibility into critical supply chain events, and closely monitor key performance indicators to drive more proactive supply chain management."
PowerCenter is currently embedded within i2 SCOS to extract, transform, consolidate and validate data from multiple disparate systems across an extended supply chain for consistent data views. PowerCenter's real-time functionality extends these capabilities to include the capture, transformation and bi-directional integration of operational data in real time to help enable real-time supply chain monitoring and decision-making.
"Informatica is focused on expanding its market reach by partnering with top-tier companies in specific horizontals such as supply chain management," said John Entenmann, executive vice president of corporate strategy and marketing at Informatica. "Our extended OEM partnership with i2, and the new distribution opportunities in Asia-Pacific with NEC, are perfect examples of how we are aggressively expanding our partner and customer ecosystem around the globe."
Informatica and i2 have more than 83 joint customers worldwide, including NEC which, in addition to distributing i2 SCOS, is currently broadly implementing the solution internally.
