Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA), the world’s number one independent provider of data integration software, today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant in the 2013 Data Integration Magic Quadrant report published July 17, 2013. The complete report, including the quadrant graphic, is available on the Informatica web site at www.informatica.com/di_mq/.
The complete Gartner Magic Quadrant reports for 2012 Master Data Management of Customer Data Solutions, Magic Quadrant for 2012 Data Quality Tools and Magic Quadrant for 2012 Data Masking Technology, including the quadrant graphic, are available at the Informatica web site.
Gartner analysts evaluate technology providers on the quality and efficacy of the processes, systems, methods and/or procedures that enable IT providers’ performance to be competitive, efficient and effective, and to positively impact revenue, retention and reputation. Ultimately, technology providers are judged on their ability to capitalize on their vision, and their success in doing so. Technology providers are assessed on their understanding of the ways that market forces can be exploited to create opportunities.
Authors of the report state “data integration is central to enterprises’ information infrastructure. Enterprises pursuing the frictionless sharing of data are increasingly favoring technology tools that are flexible in regard to time-to-value demands, integration patterns, optimization for cost and delivery models, and synergies with data management programs.”
The report continues: “The competitive landscape reflects vendors’ pursuit of a more comprehensive offering strategy to support a broad range of use cases and to capitalize on new demand. IT leaders are demanding synergy between functions, performance and scalability in data integration tools, so that they operate well with the same vendor's technology stack and, increasingly, interoperate across data management infrastructures.”
The report defines leaders as “front-runners in the convergence of single-purpose tools into an offering that supports a range of data delivery styles. These vendors are strong in the more traditional data integration patterns. They also support newer patterns and provide capabilities that enable data services in the context of SOA. Leaders have significant mind share in the market, and resources skilled in their tools are readily available. These vendors establish market trends, to a large degree, by providing new functional capabilities in their products, and by identifying new types of business problems to which data integration tools can bring significant value. Examples of deployments that span multiple projects and types of use cases are common among Leaders’ customers.”
“Informatica continues to lead the data integration market with innovative solutions that range from entry level to the enterprise to Hadoop, integrating data both on premise and in the cloud,” said Todd Goldman, vice president and general manager of Data Integration and Data Quality at Informatica. “We believe Gartner’s recognition of Informatica in the leadership quadrant is a proof point that our continued investments in technologies like Vibe, the industry’s first Virtual Data Machine, are addressing our customer business objectives to unlock their information potential.”
The Informatica Platform, powered by Vibe, provides the ability to access, aggregate and manage data regardless of type, source, volume, compute platform or user – without recoding. Informatica equips organizations to stay on top of the constantly changing technological environment regardless of how quickly and unpredictably things evolve.
