ARIBA AND INFORMATICA DELIVER POWERFUL ANALYTIC SOLUTION TO ARIBA B2B COMMERCE PLATFORM CUSTOMERS
First integrated analytic applications to enable analysis across entire e-business value chain by linking customer, partner and supplier relationships
MOUNTAIN VIEW and PALO ALTO, Calif., June 28, 2000 - Ariba Inc. (NASDAQ: ARBA), the leading business-to-business (B2B) e-Commerce platform provider, and Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of integrated analytic solutions for e-business, today announced the availability of Informatica CommerceAnalytics (ICA) for Ariba™, a tightly integrated B2B e-commerce analytic solution. Now available to all customers of the Ariba Buyer™ B2B e-Commerce solution, the ICA "purchasing analytics" solution is designed to help customers analyze their transactional data to better identify trends and opportunities.
Ariba Buyer, leveraging Ariba Commerce Services Network™, enables organizations to electronically aggregate corporate purchasing from employee desktops and direct spending to preferred suppliers and B2B marketplaces, resulting in higher-volume pricing and greater efficiency.
Built upon Informatica's PowerCenter.e™ data-integration software, the ICA solution extracts data directly from Ariba Buyer and populates a packaged analytic application. The data can then be accessed by a variety of decision-makers within a company, including procurement managers, financial and operations analysts, and everyday purchasing managers. With critical analytical information in hand, these employees are then empowered to make better business decisions - decisions that can lower costs, improve service levels, and optimize commerce processes.
"In the competitive landscape of B2B e-business where the number of buyers and suppliers for online transactions has increased dramatically, a detailed understanding of business across multiple channels and the many variables within the complex web of customer, partner and supplier relationships is becoming an integral part of a company's value chain," said Dave Rome, vice president alliances and business development for Ariba. "With the delivery of Informatica CommerceAnalytics for Ariba, Informatica is helping to directly address critical analytic requirements for optimizing commerce and other supply-chain operations."
"By offering analytic capabilities to its e-procurement customers, Ariba is providing a powerful means for transforming B2B e-commerce transactional data into valuable e-business intelligence," said Diaz Nesamoney, president of Informatica. "With this insight, Ariba customers can optimize the performance of their current business, and uncover new business opportunities and revenue streams."
The result of a joint-development effort by Informatica and Ariba, Informatica CommerceAnalytics for Ariba is now available from Informatica for all current and new Ariba Buyer customers.
