INFORMATICA SIGNS LARGE ANALYTIC APPLICATIONS DEAL; MOTOROLA PLANS WORLDWIDE DEPLOYMENT OF INFORMATICA APPLICATIONS

PALO ALTO, Calif., October 4, 2000 — Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of e-business analytic solutions, today announced it signed one of the largest licensing agreements in the company's history with Motorola (NYSE: MOT) for Informatica Applications, an integrated family of analytic applications that helps companies achieve insight across their entire value chain to maximize business performance. Informatica Application for eCRM, Informatica Application for eBusiness Operations and Informatica Application for eProcurement will be deployed as the global standard across several of Motorola's key business units.

“The implementation of Informatica Applications will enable employees at all organizational levels to access and analyze critical business information, helping us improve company performance and increase our competitive advantage,” said Bill Lockerbie, vice president and director, I.T. Business Planning and Strategy at Motorola. “After a detailed evaluation, we selected Informatica Applications' integrated analytic solution to help us analyze business performance both vertically, within the business unit, and horizontally across multiple segments of the corporation.”

“The integrated, cross-functional analytic power that comes from Informatica's tightly knit family of applications can help global companies like Motorola gain valuable insight across their entire value chain. Before Informatica Applications, companies had to rely on isolated, 'stovepipe' analytic applications that were difficult to piece together to obtain a holistic, enterprise-wide view of their business,” said Marv Mouchawar, senior vice president and general manager for Informatica's application products. “We are very pleased an industry leader like Motorola has selected Informatica Applications to fulfill such a critical role in the company.”

Informatica Applications is a family of integrated analytic applications -- eCRM, eProcurement, eBusiness Operations and eMarketplace -- that for the first time helps companies evaluate the performance of their entire web of customer, partner and supplier relationships, and act upon the results to maximize business performance. Powered by Informatica's market-leading data-integration platform software, the Informatica Applications family delivers the industry's most comprehensive analytic solution for gaining real-time insight across the entire e-business value chain.
