INFORMATICA APPLICATIONS WIN INTELLIGENT ENTERPRISE READERS' CHOICE AWARD

Subscribers of leading industry magazine vote Informatica Applications best product in analytic applications category

PALO ALTO, Calif., October 4, 2000 — Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of e-business analytic solutions, today announced that readers of Intelligent Enterprise magazine have selected Informatica Applications as the winner of the 2000 Intelligent Enterprise Readers' Choice Award in the analytic applications category. Launched in June of this year, Informatica Applications is an integrated family of analytic applications -- eCRM, eProcurement, eBusiness Operations and eMarketplace -- that allows companies to evaluate the performance of their entire web of customer, partner and supplier relationships, and act upon the results to maximize business performance.

"Informatica's top placement among analytic applications vendors by readers of a publication like Intelligent Enterprise illustrates how quickly Informatica has established a strong position in the analytic applications market only three months after the launch of this product line," said Gaurav Dhillon, CEO of Informatica. "Industry recognition for Informatica Applications and the products' adoption by global leaders such as Motorola, SGI and Philips is strong validation of our strategy to deliver the market's most comprehensive suite of analytic applications."

Intelligent Enterprise magazine is targeted at business and IT leaders, reporting on management and technology issues pertaining to business intelligence, data warehousing, customer relationship management, data/application integration, knowledge management, and scalable e-business. The publication is read bi-monthly by more than 100,000 IT professionals involved in the management of business-critical applications.

Every year, Intelligent Enterprise magazine sponsors its Readers' Choice Award with categories representing the various products and topical areas covered by the publication. Readers submit online ballots to determine the winners. The list of 2000 winners can be found at http://www.intelligententerprise.com.
