Application is first to provide out-of-the-box integration of clickstream data with other key enterprise information to enable comprehensive analysis
PALO ALTO, Calif., December 4, 2000 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of eBusiness analytic software, today announced the general availability of Informatica eSite, a sophisticated analytic application that enables companies to integrate "clickstream," or Web log data, with other key information from across the enterprise in order to analyze and improve the effectiveness of their Web channels. Now available as a standalone product outside of the larger Informatica eCRM application, Informatica eSite can help companies grow their online businesses by transforming the enormous volumes of clickstream data generated from their Web sites into valuable insight.
Clickstream refers to lines of code that are written to a flat file, called a Web log, each time a visitor views a Web page or clicks on a hyperlink. Analyzing clickstream information can help companies answer questions such as 'What are the most commonly viewed pages on our site? Which affiliate Web sites are driving traffic to our site? How long on average are certain pages viewed? What search terms are visitors most commonly using on referral sites?'
More importantly, Informatica eSite allows companies to integrate clickstream data with other key information from across the enterprise, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, helping them answer even deeper questions such as 'How many customers that viewed a product online actually purchased it? What is the online behavior of our most profitable customers? How effective are our online marketing activities?'
"Informatica eSite is the only application that approaches clickstream as one component of a larger enterprise-wide effort to obtain business insight, enabling companies to view clickstream data in the context of other key information such as customer, product and campaign data," said Marv Mouchawar, general manager, Informatica Applications Business Unit. "In addition, because eSite is powered by Informatica's leading data integration platform, eSite implementations are open, scalable and easily modified without requiring additional code to be written. This multi-channel approach to clickstream analysis eliminates silos of information and represents the next generation in clickstream applications."
Informatica eSite offers a wide array of packaged key business metrics, including those measuring marketing/advertising effectiveness; customer behavior, loyalty and retention; shop-to-buy ratios; top search terms; repeat visitors; most requested pages; activity by month/day/hour; average duration of visit; lead generation; top navigated paths and top entry/exit pages. In addition to these packaged metrics, eSite offers robust ad-hoc reporting capabilities.
Now available as a standalone application, Informatica eSite is also a standard module within Informatica eCRM, an analytic application from Informatica designed to help companies manage customer acquisition, intimacy and retention. Informatica eCRM delivers key business metrics for analyzing areas including marketing effectiveness, Web site traffic, e-commerce activity, customer pipelines, lifetime value and retention/defection rates. The eCRM application provides a universal view of customers and their behaviors, and helps uncover new business opportunities and generate new revenue.
Informatica Applications is a family of four integrated analytic applications -- eCRM, eProcurement, eBusiness Operations and eMarketplace -- that for the first time help companies evaluate the performance of their entire web of customer, partner and supplier relationships, and act upon the results to achieve optimal business performance. Powered by Informatica's market-leading data-integration platform software, Informatica Applications delivers the industry's most robust analytic solution for gaining real-time insight across the entire e-business value chain.
Currently used by more than 1,000 industry-leading companies worldwide, Informatica's data integration software platform helps companies leverage their data across multiple sales, supplier and customer-interaction channels for business intelligence by integrating Web-transaction and clickstream data with information from more traditional enterprise sources such as ERP and CRM systems, relational databases, mainframe systems and external demographic databases.
