CISCO LICENSES INFORMATICA APPLICATIONS
PALO ALTO, Calif., March 28, 2001 — Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of eBusiness analytic solutions, today announced that Cisco Systems, Inc. has licensed the Informatica eSite analytic application to enable Cisco to enhance the services it offers customers, employees and partners via the company’s Web sites. Informatica eSite helps companies integrate Web clickstream data with other key enterprise information in order to analyze and improve the effectiveness of their Web channels, and is available as part of the larger Informatica eCRM application.
“Informatica eSite is the only application that approaches clickstream as one component of a larger enterprise-wide effort to obtain business insight, helping companies to view clickstream data in the context of other key information such as customer, supplier, product and campaign data. This cross-value chain approach to clickstream and eCRM analysis eliminates silos of information and represents the next generation in analytic applications,” said Marv Mouchawar, senior vice president and general manager, Informatica Applications. “The selection of Informatica eSite by an industry leader such as Cisco is a strong endorsement of our unique approach.”
Analyzing clickstream information alone can help companies answer questions such as ‘What are the most common clickstream paths to purchase? Which search engines and partners are driving traffic to our site? How often and long are certain pages viewed? What search terms are visitors using to navigate the site?’
Informatica eSite, however, also allows companies to integrate clickstream data with other key information from across the enterprise, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, helping them answer even deeper questions such as ‘How many customers that viewed a product online actually purchased it? What is the online behavior of our most profitable customers? How effective are our online marketing activities?’
Informatica eSite is a standard module within Informatica eCRM, an analytic application designed to help companies manage customer acquisition, intimacy and retention. The Informatica eCRM application provides a universal view of customers and their behaviors, and helps uncover new business opportunities and generate new revenue.
Informatica Applications is a family of integrated analytic applications that allows businesses to evaluate their entire value chain of customer, partner, employee and supplier relationships, and act upon the results to achieve optimal business performance. Powered by the company’s market-leading data integration platform, the Informatica Applications family — Informatica eCRM, eBusiness Operations, eProcurement and eMarketplace — delivers the industry’s most comprehensive analytic solution for gaining real-time insight across the entire eBusiness value chain.
