INFORMATICA PLAYS KEY ROLE IN CRM STRATEGY FOR AXA CLIENT SOLUTIONS

Informatica helps AXA gain 360-degree view of its enterprise

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 4, 2001—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of eBusiness analytic solutions, today announced that AXA Client Solutions, a subsidiary of AXA Financial, Inc., has successfully implemented Informatica PowerCenter to help strengthen its competitive positioning and customer service. AXA Client Solutions relies on the Informatica award-winning data integration software to help achieve a comprehensive and integrated view of valuable business information, such as agent profitability and customer usage, assisting the company in responding quickly to changing market conditions.

“Informatica PowerCenter is a key element of our CRM architecture,” said Jonathan Springer, application architect in AXA's Strategic Data Technology office. “Informatica has allowed us to integrate the information we need to develop a better understanding of our customers. That information, in turn, allows us to effectively analyze marketing campaigns and help adjust service levels to the evolving needs of our customers.”

AXA also uses Informatica PowerCenter to rapidly develop a range of analytic applications, including those to more effectively track and analyze the profitability of its field sales force.

“Using Informatica to create a statement of earnings for each financial professional at AXA Advisors helps us evaluate our team's responsiveness and competitive positioning in the marketplace,” said Springer. “Immediate access to this information on a regular basis helps us continue to strengthen our market position.”

“As one of the world's premier financial services organizations, it is invaluable for AXA to have a complete view of its enterprise,” said Diaz Nesamoney, president and COO of Informatica. “By delivering the performance required to meet the business analytic needs of the most demanding enterprises, Informatica PowerCenter enables industry-leading corporations like AXA to make fast and consistent business decisions.”

Besides valuable business insight, Informatica PowerCenter provided AXA with a cost-effective way to operate in both DB2 and Oracle environments without major re-training efforts for its IT staff.

“Informatica's interface offers a level of simplicity that enabled us to use people who had strictly DB2 experience to implement logic in an Oracle/Sun environment without the usual ramp-up time you'd expect for such a transition,” says Springer. “Moreover, the modularity of the Informatica solution and its ability to implement complex systems logic has cut time-to-market for our analytic solutions in half.”

AXA Client Solutions is a subsidiary of AXA Financial, Inc., which has approximately $400 billion in assets under management and is one of the world 's premier financial services organizations through its strong brands: The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S, AXA Advisors, Equitable Distributors, Inc., Alliance Capital Management and Sanford C. Bernstein. AXA Financial is a member of the global AXA Group, which has operations in approximately 50 countries and has approximately $900 billion in assets under management.
