Vitria BusinessWare linked to Informatica real-time analytics solution

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 25, 2001 – Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytic solutions, today announced a strategic technology and marketing alliance with Vitria Technology (NASDAQ: VITR), a leading provider of integration server software.  The companies will collaborate on linking Vitria’s BusinessWare and the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform to provide customers with real-time analytics capabilities.

“Companies stand to benefit greatly from real-time analysis of integrated data drawn from real-time EAI streams, message queues and other enterprise sources,” said Mark Hill, senior vice president of marketing and business development at Vitria. “The scalability and real-time processing power of Informatica PowerCenter is a perfect complement for Vitria BusinessWare solutions.  Linking the two to enable real-time analytics will be of significant value to our respective eBusiness customers.”

Vitria BusinessWare transforms and integrates information in real time from applications across an enterprise in support of automated business processes.  By partnering with Informatica, Vitria will enable streams of real-time data from BusinessWare to be integrated with “time-slice” data by the Informatica PowerCenter data integration and analysis platform for real-time analytics.

Enhanced for real-time analytics, Informatica PowerCenter will (1) instantaneously source real-time data from EAI data streams, message queues and related sources, (2) integrate that data with other information from across the enterprise and (3) deliver real-time analytics, including alerts, to relevant applications and personal information devices to drive immediate actions.

“The goal of real-time analytics is to instantly integrate transactional and other real-time data with relevant enterprise data, delivering real-time analysis capabilities to all key corporate information consumers,” said Girish Pancha, senior vice president and general manager of platform technologies at Informatica. “Vitria’s support of this concept is a natural extension of its leadership in integrating applications and transactional data in real time.”

Informatica and Vitria will also collaborate in joint marketing and sales activities.  The Vitria/Informatica connectivity solution is scheduled for release by Informatica in the third quarter of 2001.
