INFORMATICA SIGNS MASTER-DISTRIBUTOR AGREEMENT WITH SOFTTEK FOR LATIN AMERICA
 
Latin America's largest independent systems integrator brings technical, cultural expertise as master distributor for Informatica data integration and analytic software
 
PALO ALTO, Calif., July 9, 2001 — Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytic solutions, today announced it signed a master-distributor agreement with Softtek, the leading software services provider in Latin America. This agreement marks a significant enhancement in the relationship between the two companies and reinforces Informatica's strong commitment to the Latin American market.

Informatica maintains customers in Latin America across multiple vertical markets, including financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, high technology and consumer goods. Leading customers include MetroGas (Argentina), UTE (Uruguay), Danone (Argentina), Banco Central de Venezuela (Venezuela), Itaú Seguros (Brazil ), Intelig (Brazil), TV-Sky (Brazil), France Caribe Mobile (Grenoble), France Telecom Dominica (Dominican Republic), Pemex (Mexico), Gamesa (Frito Lay - Mexico), Petróleo Ipiranga (Brazil), Elma Chips (Frito Lay - Brazil), Vitro (Mexico) and Xerox (Brazil).

Under the terms of the agreement, Softtek will provide sales, marketing, technical, implementation and training support for Informatica business in Latin America. Softtek has offices in all major countries and cities throughout Latin America, as well as in Spain and the United States. Informatica will manage and support Softtek's efforts through its corporate headquarters in California, enabling Softtek to leverage Informatica's centralized product and technical expertise, and successful sales, marketing and business-development programs.

Softtek previously acted as one of several distributors in the region for Informatica. While Softtek will now operate as the master distributor for Informatica throughout Latin America, Informatica will also continue to maintain reseller agreements with Softtrends, Softtron and Sybase in the region.
