LONDON, 28 August 2001: Kalido Ltd, a specialist data warehouse provider, and Informatica Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise analytic software, today announced they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a technology, sales and marketing partnership to deliver a sophisticated data warehouse solution. The two primary benefits joint customers can realize will be faster implementation times and quicker return on investment resulting from the low cost of systems maintenance of their data warehouse once live.
Informatica PowerCenter® data integration software provides the capability to consolidate data from a multitude of disparate enterprise systems that can be loaded directly into the Kalido data warehouse. The Kalido data warehouse solution enables information to be very easily manipulated, no matter how complex the business environment or how often the structure of the data changes.
“Together, we hope to create an extremely powerful, elegant software solution for customers who need a state-of-the-art, packaged data warehouse that enables complex analysis and provides improved business insight,” said Bart Foster, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Informatica. “Underlying application data models constantly evolve as companies grow and their analytic needs change. Coming from its origins within the Shell Group of Companies, the Kalido data warehouse was built specifically to handle just this type of dynamic environment.”
Development has already begun for this planned technology partnership. At its core, the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform will be integrated with the Kalido data warehouse. PowerCenter helps companies integrate information from numerous disparate systems across the enterprise, such as eBusiness servers, web logs, ERP systems, relational databases, legacy systems and more. As a result of the alliance, it is anticipated that companies will be able to accelerate their implementation by taking advantage of Informatica’s and Kalido’s combined integration, storage and analytic capabilities.
“Companies should choose carefully before investing in analytic technologies to ensure they are capable of handling the increasingly complex data environments of multi-channel business today,” said Andy Hayler, CEO of Kalido. “Acknowledged as the industry standard data integration platform, Informatica PowerCenter 5 can easily handle the highly complex environments for which the Kalido warehouse is designed. By pairing our products, we aim to provide the deepest analytical insights into business data available on the market, across our customers’ entire businesses.”
