i2 OEMs INFORMATICA FOR DATA INTEGRATION

Informatica to provide data integration for efficient planning and rapid time-to-action across extended supply chain

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., September 24, 2001 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of enterprise analytic software, today announced an expanded OEM relationship with i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITWO), the leading provider of dynamic value chain solutions. i2 has selected Informatica as a component of the i2 platform for data integration. The robust data integration capabilities provided by the Informatica PowerCenter platform and Informatica PowerConnect products are designed to enable i2 customers to further maximize the efficiency of their planning operations while responding more quickly to changes in their supply chain environments.

Optimized for rapid bulk data movement and transformation, Informatica PowerCenter software is designed to provide the functionality to quickly consolidate and move large amounts of data for analytics and planning. Informatica PowerConnect for SAP and other Informatica PowerConnect products, meanwhile, provide configurable bulk data integration with ERP, legacy applications and EAI systems, leading to valuable metadata integration, reduced development efforts, and more rapid time-to-market for comprehensive collaborative commerce applications.

i2's Informatica-enabled solution for large data volumes is integrated with and is complementary to the real time dynamic value chain data integration provided by the webMethods integration platform. Informatica and webMethods are also engaged in an alliance relationship.

“Our relationship with Informatica will provide i2 customers with data integration capabilities so they can quickly use their legacy and enterprise data to obtain the strategic value of supply chain information and hone operational efficiencies,” said Greg Brady, CEO of i2. “By quickly integrating significant amounts of information from a multitude of sources and moving it rapidly to i2 solutions, Informatica allows users to identify trends and take action quickly.”

The new OEM relationship builds on an existing i2/Informatica relationship. The new agreement includes joint product development initiatives in Supply Chain Management and other strategic i2 arenas, as well as joint marketing of i2 solutions and the Informatica products.

“We are pleased that i2 values Informatica's ability to integrate ever increasing amounts of data from more sources in less time, resulting in more effective supply chain planning and management,” said Gaurav Dhillon, CEO of Informatica. “Our scalability, performance and ease of use are perfect matches for the overall scalability, performance and functionality of i2 applications and will lead to faster deployment of state-of-the-art enterprise solutions.”
