INFORMATICA ANNOUNCES 2001 INSIGHT AWARD WINNERS
Award recognizes customers’ successful implementations of Informatica enterprise analytic software to drive business effectiveness
SAN FRANCISCO, Informatica World 2001, October 23, 2001—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of enterprise analytic software, today announced the recipients of its annual Informatica Insight Award. Presented to winning customers today at Informatica World 2001 in San Francisco, the Insight Award acknowledges companies’ successful adoption of Informatica enterprise analytic solutions to drive significant business results.
“This year’s nominees continue to demonstrate the powerful results that can be achieved by companies worldwide using Informatica data integration and analytic software to drive business effectiveness,” said Gaurav Dhillon, CEO of Informatica. “The competition this year is especially noteworthy as it includes the first round of customers that have successfully gone ‘live’ with Informatica Applications since their introduction last year. Winners of the Informatica Insight Award for 2001 are as follows:
- Enterprise Analytics — Motorola and UBS Private Bank
Leveraging “the tremendous time-to-implement advantage” offered by Informatica’s analytic applications, Motorola’s PCS division licensed the entire family of Informatica Applications. The access to analytics provided by the Informatica solution is giving Motorola a clear competitive advantage. Powerful results that have been projected to date to include direct productivity savings and strategic business savings that could reach many millions of dollars.
UBS Private Bank also won in the Enterprise Analytics category. UBS has successfully leveraged the Informatica PowerCenter enterprise data integration platform to deliver a highly personalized level of service to its clients. Given the success of its initial implementation in London, UBS Private Bank is now planning to roll out the system globally.
- Web Channel Analytics—Cisco Systems
Cisco Systems is one of the world's largest Web-enabled enterprises with over 90 percent of all its business activities conducted via the Web. Cisco relies on Informatica Web Channel Analytics software to measure and gain insight into Web traffic patterns, visitor activity and Web site usage. Analytics are delivered to more than 1,500 users at Cisco to help the company increase the ease of use and effectiveness of its Web site, and ultimately raise customer satisfaction.
- CRM Analytics—Brocade Communications and Toyota Motor Sales USA
The leading provider of storage area networking (SAN) infrastructure, Brocade Communications implemented Informatica Customer Relationship Analytics software in only six weeks. The company now has a clear understanding of the three critical parameters of bookings, billings and backlog to provide members of its sales, finance and manufacturing groups with an accurate picture of actual versus forecasted bookings, delivery performance and overall sales.
Toyota Motor Sales USA also won in the CRM Analytics category for the success of its Corporate Customer Information System (CCIS). Using the Informatica data integration platform, Toyota developed an enterprise data warehouse that allows the company to gain a better understanding of customers, support positive interactions with customers at all touch points, and set the stage for future customer retention and communications efforts.
- Business Operations Analytics—STERIS Corp.
STERIS Corporation is a leading provider of medical products and services to health care, scientific, research, food and industrial customers throughout the world. Using the Informatica Business Operations Analytics application, the company successfully gains insight into its business operations, product profitability and sales performance.
- Supply Chain Analytics—Philips Semiconductor
In production with Informatica Supply Chain Analytics software, Philips Semiconductor has successfully improved delivery times to customers while lowering inventory levels. The application has given Philips an integrated view of information from diverse sources to enable effective planning and provide the right information to the right people at the right time.
- Enterprise Data Warehouse—Hewlett-Packard and HSA of San Mateo County
Hewlett-Packard’s IPS division is using Informatica Supply Chain Analytics software to analyze data from its numerous SAP implementations. The creation of a Global SAP Data Warehouse has enabled HP to slash the cost of requisitioning and purchasing production goods and services, dramatically cut overhead through enhanced efficiency, better establish collaborative supplier relationships, and increase on-time deliveries.
The Human Services Agency (HAS) of San Mateo County, State of California, also won in the Enterprise Data Warehouse category. Responsible for the welfare of its local constituents, HSA uses the Informatica data integration platform across multiple departments to improve the efficiency and cost effectiveness of its many programs. HSA was nominated by Deloitte Consulting, which also won an award for its involvement in the HSA implementation.
- Very Large Data Warehouse—Staples
Office superstore giant Staples maintains a large-scale data warehouse that currently houses more than one terabyte of merchandizing data from its retail, contract, catalog and Internet sales channels. The company uses the Informatica PowerCenter enterprise data integration platform to successfully gain a unified view of multi-channel information to improve decision-making across the company.
- Metadata Management—Fidelity Investments
Fidelity has successfully leveraged the Informatica PowerCenter enterprise data integration platform to support the analysis of financial statistics, revenue and expenses by its corporate finance group. The implementation of Informatica PowerCenter helped Fidelity create a more structured approach to managing its metadata, resulting in increased productivity and responsiveness. Fidelity was nominated by Data Advantage Group, which also won an award for its involvement in the Fidelity implementation.
Insight Awards for partner excellence were also given to Accenture, PeopleSoft and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
