NESTLÉ SA ADDS INFORMATICA DATA INTEGRATION PLATFORM TO WORLDWIDE GLOBAL BUSINESS INITIATIVE TARGETED AT IMPROVED MANAGEMENT DECISION MAKING

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., January 9, 2002 -- Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of enterprise analytic software, announced today that Nestlé SA has chosen the Informatica PowerCenter enterprise data integration platform for Nestlé's GLOBE strategic business initiative. GLOBE plans to rely on the Informatica data integration platform to help manage the integration and migration of information from diverse operational systems across the company and to help reduce costs, improve performance and increase operational efficiency of its businesses worldwide.

The GLOBE initiative, which stands for Global Business Excellence, will implement common business processes by integrating common internal and external master data and common information systems. The standard business framework is based on the mySAP.com application suite. A global template will be designed and constructed at the GLOBE headquarters in Switzerland and then be delivered to the three regional centers (Europe, America, Asia/Pacific).

The combination of Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica PowerConnect products will help ensure seamless delivery of data across the company and into the SAP application. This combination is designed to ensure that most of the transformation processes can be achieved without major adaptations by each regional center, thereby enabling Nestlé engineers to focus on other projects.

“We are delighted that Nestlé has chosen Informatica to help realize its ambitions in managing their worldwide data on a standard business framework,” said Ediz Ertekin, vice president of Informatica Europe. “Our enterprise analytics infrastructure is designed to scale with the GLOBE initiative as a key to improved efficiency and effectiveness.”
