INFORMATICA DATA INTEGRATION PLATFORM GOES LIVE AT PFIZER GLOBAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Robust metadata and extensive object-reuse capabilities can deliver accelerated time-to-insight and total-cost-of-ownership advantages

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., January 14, 2002 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of enterprise analytic software, today announced that the Global Research and Development division of Pfizer Inc, has “gone live” with Informatica PowerCenter. The Informatica Data Integration Platform sources information from a wide range of targeted systems, heightens response efficiency of applications groups and helps drive enhanced business insights and improved decision-making.

Informatica integrates and loads massive amounts of budget, cost center, financial, and other data into the R&D division's Oracle-based administrative operational data store (ODS) and data warehouse. The combined data is then used to create custom data marts that are made available to users and other applications anywhere in the world for business analysis. The metadata management capabilities built into the Informatica platform enables the creation of reusable software objects that, once defined, can be easily recombined to produce new data marts and support new kinds of analyses.

The administrative groups within the Pfizer R&D division have standardized on Informatica PowerCenter as their data integration platform.
