INFORMATICA BRINGS REAL-TIME ANALYTICS TO LEADING BUSINESS PORTALS VIA WEB SERVICES

Embedded analytics enhances value of leading enterprise portal offerings

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 28, 2002 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytics software, today announced that the Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform now delivers real-time analytics content to enterprise portals as a Web service. Through its support for Web services, Informatica provides the secure and automatic publication of real-time analytic content - such as key metrics and dashboards - to leading enterprise portals such as BEA WebLogic Portal, Plumtree Corporate Portal and Epicentric Foundation Server.

“In today's competitive market, businesses demand more from a portal than just content aggregation - they must provide their information consumers with the key metrics they need to make critical business decisions,” said Diaz Nesamoney, president and COO of Informatica. “By making our powerful analytics available in real time via Web services, Informatica can help significantly enhance the business value of today's enterprise portals.”

Available now, the latest release of the Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform provides a secure, single sign-on mechanism for information consumers inside and outside an enterprise to access real-time analytic content through enterprise portals via Web Services.

For example, a user logged onto a supply chain portal can transparently access Informatica-driven analytics metrics, dashboards and scorecards relevant to their business operations. This is made possible by exposing the APIs of the J2EE-based Informatica Analytics Server through XML, SOAP and WSDL-enabled Web services.

Leading Portal Vendors Welcome Integration of Informatica Analytics

“BEA WebLogic Portal customers turn to Informatica to provide personalized analysis, reporting and alerting capabilities. Now with Web Services support, Informatica's analytics can be automatically accessed and externalized throughout the enterprise,” said Pat O'Haren, senior director of product marketing, BEA Systems. “Together, BEA and Informatica are addressing customer demand for real-time, personalized access to business and customer analytics.”

“By leveraging Web services and Plumtree's extensive developer resources to integrate real-time analytics capabilities into joint customers' portals as Gadget Web Services, Informatica will offer a powerful means to help customers further maximize business efficiency, performance and profitability,” said Hilary Jules, director of alliances at Plumtree Software. “Informatica's development strategy is consistent with Plumtree's commitment to embracing Internet standards to offer customers maximum flexibility in their portal deployments.”

“Epicentric Foundation Server provides a complete portal solution for creating and managing collaborative, interconnected enterprise portals, along with the flexibility, depth of integration and accelerated time to market for leveraging Web services,” said Ed Anuff, chief strategy officer at Epicentric. “Informatica's delivery of real-time enterprise analytics capabilities as a Web service within the Epicentric product further enhances our expertise and leadership in Web service integration and further highlights our product value, helping customers increase productivity, achieve IT efficiencies and gain a competitive edge.”
