Developers of data-quality and metadata-management solutions earn gold certification

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 8, 2002 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytics software, today announced the first anniversary of the Informatica Developer Network and its recent successes. Newly reached milestones include the registration of 3,000 external developers, new partner-branded products developed under the program, and soon the online availability of these products via the Informatica customer portal.

The Informatica Developer Network is a Web-enabled program that helps third-party developers drive the rapid development of add-on solutions to Informatica products. Developers from 1,100 companies in 43 countries have registered during the program's first year and created more than 10 add-on solutions to enhance Informatica products in specific functions such as metadata management, information quality, data interoperability, performance management and event monitoring.

“The success the Informatica Developer Network has achieved in its first year-with the introduction of new products, the fast-growing number of participants and its expert discussion forums-demonstrates the developers' innovation and passion for creating a collaborative forum for solving customer issues,” said Girish Pancha, senior vice president and general manager of platform technologies at Informatica. “The program's impressive productivity to date has significantly enhanced the business value of the Informatica platform.”

The latest products resulting from the Informatica Developer Network include those from Firstlogic, Group 1 Software, Trillium Software, AmSoft Systems, Data Advantage Group, Yaletown Technology Group, Sapior and The Bridgers:

  • The Bridgers, a newly formed company in the Netherlands, now focuses on offering data interoperability between the Informatica Data Integration Platform and SAS. The Bridgers products can load data from the Informatica Data Integration Platform directly into targeted SAS data warehouses and also read data from SAS data sources directly into the Informatica Data Integration Platform. These products in turn provide Informatica and SAS users greater ability to integrate and analyze their data in an efficient and seamless manner.

Enhanced Online Member Services: Web Seminars and Discussion Forums

During the last four months, the Informatica Developer Network has sponsored Web seminars from four of its members to educate the developer community about innovative third-party solutions that are tightly integrated with the Informatica Data Integration Platform.

The main portal to the Informatica Developer Network at http://devnet.informatica.com/ was also recently remodeled for easier navigation, especially in the developer showcase area which details the third-party add-on solutions. The site offers access to documentation, software, technical papers and a variety of discussion forums, which have become a rich knowledge base with 800 technical messages posted. It also showcases key partner solutions and provides a mechanism for direct feedback on development-related issues.

The Informatica Developer Network is open to commercial and corporate developers within large user organizations. Developer members include commercial software companies; corporations and government organizations with internal software development staff; consultants and system integrators; and academic institutions performing research and software development. The program supports software development efforts and creates a collaborative online community of developers by providing online discussion forums for interactive information exchanges, resource sharing, and open feedback between members and Informatica. Software products from Informatica Developer Network members can become certified once they pass a set of requirements established by Informatica.
