PRIMECO SELECTS INFORMATICA ANALYTICS DELIVERY PLATFORM
Integrated end-to-end solution beats competition for rapid deployment and lowest total cost of ownership
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 7, 2002 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytics software, today announced that the Informatica Analytics Server with Informatica Mobile option and the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform have been selected by PrimeCo Personal Communications. PrimeCo, a leading wireless telecommunications provider, chose Informatica over competitive business intelligence (BI) tools because of its ability to be rapidly deployed and deliver a fully integrated, end-to-end solution at the lowest total cost of ownership.
After being recently purchased by a group of private investors, PrimeCo realized it needed an analytics infrastructure that provided executives with key metrics and a single, real-time view of the company to help enable more informed and timely decision-making. PrimeCo also needed to deliver analytics across the company to decision makers in finance, marketing, sales and operations - whether they happened to be in the office or on the road. For example, a real-time view of customer profitability combined with performance metrics of various marketing programs can help enable sales and marketing to quickly adjust marketing promotions or alert sales of key focus areas in response to competitors' programs or changes.

The Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform, comprised of Informatica Analytics Server and Informatica Mobile, provides scalability through its support for J2EE application servers. By deploying the Informatica Mobile option, PrimeCo will take advantage of the ability to deliver real-time analytics, as well as email and calendaring, to a mobile executive's point of work. Upon deployment at PrimeCo, scheduled for the second quarter of 2002, the Informatica Analytics Delivery Platform is intended to deliver consistent metrics via role-based, analytic dashboards using the Web, wireless or voice. For example, a PrimeCo sales representative can receive alerts about the latest marketing promotions and bookings status, review customer history and even check email while on the road visiting retail outlets.
