J.D. EDWARDS SIGNS GLOBAL OEM PARTNERSHIP WITH INFORMATICA

Informatica Data Integration Platform becomes key component of J.D. Edwards Business Intelligence

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 13, 2002 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytics software, today announced that it has entered into an OEM agreement with J.D. Edwards & Company to provide the data integration platform for the J.D. Edwards Business Intelligence software. The Informatica platform will help enable J.D. Edwards' customers to efficiently integrate data from a wide range of data sources, inside and outside the enterprise, in support of real-time business performance monitoring and analysis.

“The Informatica platform will help bring to our solution the high-performance data integration and rich metadata management capabilities required for fast and effective business intelligence,” said Lenley Hensarling, vice president of product management at J.D. Edwards. “As a leader in data integration, Informatica can empower J.D. Edwards customers to consolidate enormous amounts of data quickly, as well as define and deploy new data marts without writing custom integration code. When combined with J.D. Edwards Business Intelligence, this can translate into more timely and meaningful business insight coupled with rapid responsiveness in the face of fast-changing information needs.”

“Companies deploy collaborative applications, such as J.D. Edwards OneWorld, in order to improve business process efficiency and run their operations. The information these applications generate needs to be collected and analyzed in order to improve their overall business effectiveness. After all, operations and analytics are two sides of the same business coin,” said Mike Schiff, vice president, e-Business and Business Intelligence, Current Analysis Inc. “By integrating the Informatica platform into its Business Intelligence Offering, J.D. Edwards can empower customers with information integrated from across the entire value chain so that they can better understand, and thus improve, their business processes.”

The Informatica Data Integration Platform automatically extracts, transforms and integrates fast-changing data from J.D. Edwards' OneWorld Xe and WorldSoftware applications and combines it with data integrated from any number of disparate legacy and third-party systems and databases. A scalable, standards-based platform, the platform helps ensure the consistency of analytics across massive amounts of data and helps enable huge data volumes to be loaded and processed in short timeframes. Integration with enterprise, supplier, customer and partner systems is virtually seamless and is provided “out-of-the-box” via Informatica data integration software, leading to accelerated development of comprehensive business intelligence solutions and robust metadata integration.

Informatica's metadata capabilities enable changes to metadata to be immediately available to the front-end analytic portion of J.D. Edwards Business Intelligence. This can provides users with visibility into data sources and target data-table design, how the data was transformed, and how recently the information was refreshed.

“We are pleased that after a thorough evaluation of competitive solutions, J.D. Edwards standardized on Informatica as the data integration platform for its Business Intelligence software,” said Diaz Nesamoney, president and COO of Informatica. “J.D. Edwards customers now have an open, automated platform designed to amalgamate data from the diverse and widely distributed systems that populate the extended enterprise value chain.”

Availability

The Informatica data integration platform is expected to be generally available as part of J.D. Edwards Business Intelligence in the third calendar quarter of 2002.
