INFORMATICA ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE OF PRESIDENT AND COO DIAZ NESAMONEY

Nesamoney to depart after nearly 10 years at Informatica

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., July 29, 2002 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA) today announced that Diaz Nesamoney, President and COO, will resign from the Company to pursue other interests, effective immediately. Gaurav Dhillon, CEO and co-founder, will assume greater operational responsibility and the additional role of President.

Diaz's contributions will long be remembered. We wish him well as he enters a new chapter in his life.”

Mr. Nesamoney co-founded Informatica in early 1993, and in the early years he was instrumental in developing Informatica's market-leading data integration products. In early 2000, Mr. Nesamoney assumed the additional role of President and COO, where he helped Informatica expand into the large, growing market for business analytics.

“My years at Informatica have been tremendously rewarding,” said Nesamoney. “I am proud of the success we have achieved over the years, and am confident that the Informatica team will continue to lead the way in the analytics market.”

In this transition, Mr. Nesamoney will be transferring his responsibilities to the various members of the Informatica management team and will be stepping down from the Company's Board of Directors.
