INFORMATICA RECOGNIZES TOP INNOVATORS IN BUSINESS ANALYTICS WITH 2002 INSIGHT AWARD
This year's winners include Ace Hardware, Brunswick, ConAgra Foods, Florida Power & Light, ING U.S. Financials and Motorola
INFORMATICA WORLD, New Orleans, November 6, 2002 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytics software, today presented the 2002 Informatica Insight Award to six companies that have set the standard for successfully leveraging business analytics to maximize their performance.
“This year's Insight Award winners are cutting-edge implementers of business analytics, whose investments have quickly reaped powerful results for their organizations,” said Gaurav Dhillon, president and CEO of Informatica. “By making analytics a top IT priority - especially in these economic times - each Insight Award winner has successfully leveraged analytics to better manage the performance of key business operations across the enterprise in critical areas such as CRM, supply chain and human resources.”
Winners of the Informatica Insight Award for 2002 are:
- Ace Hardware - Customer Relationship Analytics
Ace Hardware provides more than 6,000 independent and company-owned stores with hardware and housing products. Two years ago, the company decided to change its focus from wholesale to retail. As a result, it needed to integrate wholesale and inventory data with point-of-sale data in real time from thousands of stores. Using Informatica software, Ace has built a best-practices analytics solution that helps the company improve its pricing structure, and create more effective and regionally targeted marketing campaigns.
- Brunswick - Supply Chain Analytics
Brunswick Corp., a global manufacturer of recreational equipment, uses Informatica Applications to enhance the efficiency of its supply chain. By synthesizing price, supplier-performance and quality data across its divisions, Brunswick has been able to develop better strategic sourcing decisions and drive value across its supply chain. Brunswick is also a pioneering user of the Informatica PowerAnalyzer business intelligence platform for supplier scorecards and alerts to help drive effective decision making.
- ConAgra Foods - Strategic Sourcing Analytics
ConAgra Foods, North America's leading food-service provider, has successfully implemented the Informatica Warehouse for Strategic Sourcing to better understand and leverage its enterprise spend. Within weeks of implementation, ConAgra was able to drive deeper discounts and better manage strategic supplier relationships. The Informatica Warehouse has subsequently become a major part of the company's effort to cut strategic sourcing-related costs by 10 percent over five years.
- Florida Power & Light - Human Resource Analytics
With a workforce of more than 12,000 employees across 15 states, Florida Power & Light has realized significant benefits from using Informatica software for HR and workforce analytics. Specifically, Florida Power & Light is using Informatica analytics to provide its line managers and HR personnel with the information they need to better manage their workforce - such as payroll, compensation and other key HR metrics on top of disparate systems like SAP HR and others. Florida Power & Light is also expanding its implementation with the Informatica PowerAnalyzer business intelligence platform to include dashboards and scorecards of HR analytics.
- ING U.S. Financials - Real-Time Data Integration
ING is the 24th-largest company in the world, offering banking, insurance and asset-management services. ING used the Informatica data integration platform to integrate more than 200 heterogeneous and legacy systems to help enable real-time processing of funds transferred, fully comply with SEC and NSCC regulations, and generate a holistic view of the customer across all subsidiary business units. Using Informatica's leading real-time data integration platform, the company has built a best practices solution that has reduced total project time.
- Motorola - Enterprise Analytics
Motorola is implementing Informatica Applications across the enterprise to help optimize its supply chain, obtain visibility into bookings, billings and backlog, and streamline procurement costs. Powerful results to date include productivity gains, visibility into obsolete inventory, faster definition of new-product requirements, pricing optimization, and visibility into customer and product profitability.
Insight Awards for partner excellence were also given today to BearingPoint, HP and i2.
