CEQUENT SELECTS INFORMATICA BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE PLATFORM TO POWER SUPPLY CHAIN AND SALES IMPROVEMENTS

Leading automotive-accessories manufacturer looks to gain single view of sales and suppliers

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 30, 2003 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the leading provider of business analytics software, today announced that Cequent, a leading designer and manufacturer of exterior accessories for cars and trucks, has selected Informatica PowerAnalyzer as its enterprise business intelligence standard to gain a “single view” of both sales and supplier product information. Cequent is implementing Informatica business intelligence software and the Informatica data integration platform to help streamline its procurement processes, improve customer service and identify new sales opportunities.

Cequent manufactures a broad range of vehicle accessories, including towing and hitch systems, trailer components, cargo-management products, and electrical, brake and rack systems. Using PowerAnalyzer and the Informatica data integration platform, Cequent purchasing managers and other business users can gain greater visibility into purchasing activity, allowing them to reduce costs. Informatica will also help Cequent dissect sales information and analyze buying trends by customer, time of sale, geographical location and product. As a result, Cequent will be able to better understand customer demand, identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, and apply uniform sales metrics across the company.

“Improving visibility into our operations - from demand chain to supply chain - is a top priority for us as we focus on staying competitive in today's economic environment,” said Robert Gingras, chief information officer at Cequent. “After evaluating other leading business intelligence vendors, we chose Informatica because PowerAnalyzer is easy to use, provides powerful analytic workflows and is based on a scalable, Internet-centric architecture - ensuring that we can quickly scale as we roll it out to a growing number of end users.”

“Manufacturing companies, especially those in the automotive value chain, are increasingly realizing the importance that real-time visibility plays in streamlining their operations. Cequent is showcasing its leadership in the automotive accessories space by using business intelligence to create competitive advantage,” said Sanjay Poonen, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Informatica. “We are pleased to work with Cequent as they implement this innovative approach to supply chain and sales improvements using our unified business intelligence and data integration platform.”

Designed for the mass deployment and adoption of business analytics, Informatica PowerAnalyzer is a business intelligence platform that quickly and easily delivers capabilities, such as ad-hoc query and reporting, analysis, and collaborative analytics via “out-of-the-box” dashboards or custom analytic applications. PowerAnalyzer is the only business intelligence offering based on a pure Internet-centric architecture - designed for usability, scalability and extensibility - to ensure the lowest cost of ownership and quickest return-on-investment for analytic solutions.
