MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS SELECTS INFORMATICA TO HELP REHABILITATE OFFENDER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Informatica's PowerAnalyzer business intelligence solution to help enhance decision-making, streamline mandated reporting, and improve statewide rehabilitation tracking

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., September 8, 2003 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration and business intelligence software, today announced that the Minnesota Department of Corrections (MDOC) has selected the PowerAnalyzer business intelligence solution to enhance its existing offender management system. MDOC is implementing Informatica's business intelligence software and underlying data integration platform to help track and improve key performance metrics such as offender programming and rehabilitation.

The Minnesota Department of Corrections, which operates ten correctional facilities within the state, tracks offender demographics, costs and program effectiveness to fulfill legislative reporting requirements. While the existing offender data system provides suitable baseline reports, it lacks the robust data structure and powerful analytical engine required to accurately and consistently transform tactical data into actionable information.

The Informatica solution will provide an easy-to-use front end for analyzing legislatively mandated statistics on offender data, including convictions, incarcerations and inmate program participation. The solution will enable research, program and administrative staff to apply easy-to-use, scalable business intelligence software to assess the success of offender rehabilitation programs and help meet the department's reporting, analysis, and performance management objectives.

“As a leader in delivering data integration and business intelligence to public sector organizations, Informatica is well-positioned to help the Minnesota Department of Corrections reap the benefits of E-Government,” said Sanjay Poonen, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Informatica. “We are enthusiastic about working with the department as they implement this pioneering approach to managing correctional programs using our unified business intelligence and data integration solutions.”
