INFORMATICA EXPANDS RELATIONSHIP WITH IBM

Multi-year agreement will help Informatica further optimize its product family for IBM's industry-leading platforms

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., October 29, 2003 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration and business intelligence software, today announced an agreement with IBM under which the two companies will jointly integrate, market and sell advanced business intelligence solutions worldwide. The agreement will help Informatica more tightly integrate its entire product line with key IBM hardware and software platforms, enabling customers to significantly speed development, increase effectiveness and reduce the cost of their integration and business intelligence environments.

The new agreement enhances the companies' existing relationship, and will enable collaborative solutions to be implemented as an integrated whole. This will empower customers to more efficiently utilize their full range of information assets, deliver comprehensive business intelligence to wider sets of knowledge workers, and respond more quickly and intelligently to business opportunities and change.

“From building more profitable customer relationships to streamlining supply chain operations to keeping a finger on the pulse of daily business performance, joint solutions from IBM and Informatica can help drive faster decisions and more effective actions for our customers,” said Mike Schroeck, global leader-Business Intelligence, Business Consulting Services IBM Global Services. “With Informatica's strengthened commitment to the IBM platform, we look forward to building on the current synergy between our companies to the benefit of our mutual customers.”

IBM's industry-leading products - such as the IBM DB2* Universal Database, IBM DB2 Cube Views and IBM DB2 Information Integrator technologies, IBM WebSphere* Internet infrastructure software, IBM eServer* platforms, and related operating systems such as Linux - will be tightly integrated with Informatica's leading products to provide customers with unified integration and business intelligence offerings.

IBM WebSphere 5.0 is already embedded in Informatica PowerAnalyzer as an application server option, delivering massive scalability and dynamic workload management across cluster nodes for large-scale business intelligence deployments. Also, the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform has been optimized to deliver breakthrough load performance for IBM DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Server Edition software - supercharging load times by 10 to 20 times faster than previous PowerCenter releases. And with Informatica's recent acquisition of Striva Corporation, customers now have direct access to all IBM mainframe and AS400 databases. Informatica continues to optimize its product family for these IBM technologies.

“We are very pleased to further broaden our relationship with IBM as it will benefit our customers with optimized data integration and business intelligence solutions that no single company can deliver independently,” said Gaurav Dhillon, president and CEO of Informatica. “The enhanced relationship reinforces Informatica's strong commitment to the IBM marketplace. We look forward to extending our respective market reaches and creating new revenue opportunities for both companies.”

In addition to joint integration, marketing and sales activities, the new agreement between Informatica and IBM also provides for the training of IBM sales personnel on the entire Informatica product family, including the PowerCenter data integration solution, the Informatica PowerAnalyzer business intelligence solution, and the new Informatica SuperGlue metadata management solution.
