INFORMATICA NAMED THIRD-MOST INFLUENTIAL IT COMPANY BY INTELLIGENT ENTERPRISE

Company recognized for dramatic strides forward in data integration, business intelligence and metadata management

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., December 17, 2003 - Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration and business intelligence software, today announced it has been named the third-most influential IT solutions provider by CMP Media's Intelligent Enterprise magazine. According to the magazine, Informatica was selected for the list based on its strengthened focus on data integration - with the acquisition of Striva for mainframe data integration and its launch of the SuperGlue metadata management solution, “one of the most interesting software releases of the year.”

Ranked as part of the annual Intelligent Enterprise “Dozen” list, top vendors were selected by the magazine's editorial board based on technology leadership, customer innovation and satisfaction, and industry influence. This year's list also included enterprise-computing leaders such as IBM, Microsoft and SAP.

“Excellent information integration is a critical enabler for strategic business applications,” said David Stodder, editor in chief of Intelligent Enterprise. “Informatica belongs in the 2004 Dozen because of its leadership, especially in the emerging synergy between integration and business intelligence, where Informatica also stood tall with its well-received PowerAnalyzer 4 release. Congratulations to Informatica.”

“We are honored to be selected to the Intelligent Dozen once again, and to be ranked so highly among today's premier technology companies,” said Gaurav Dhillon, president and CEO of Informatica. “This continued endorsement by Intelligent Enterprise - on the heals of last month's Reader's Choice Award for data integration leadership - reflects our success at helping our customers become intelligent enterprises with powerful data integration, business intelligence and metadata management solutions that help drive return on investment.”

The Intelligent Enterprise Dozen highlights IT solution providers doing the most to enable the development of “intelligent” enterprises: businesses that create competitive advantage through excellence in gathering, analyzing, sharing, and acting upon data-driven intelligence. An in-depth feature about “The Dozen” will appear in the January 1 edition of Intelligent Enterprise, and is currently available on the Web at http://www.intelligententerprise.com/040101/701feat1_1.shtml.

Intelligent Enterprise is the only magazine dedicated to the strategic business applications that turn information into intelligence. It serves an exclusive audience of 80,000 business and IT professionals who plan and deploy the strategic applications their companies depend on to improve decision making, enhance business performance, and maximize the value of customer relationships.
