Informatica Superglue Positioned In "Visionary" Quadrant For Metadata Repositories Market

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 17, 2004—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration and business intelligence software, today announced that the company was positioned in the “Visionary” quadrant in Gartner’s March 5, 2004 report, “Magic Quadrant for Metadata Repositories.”  According to Gartner, “Visionaries” are vendors that have a clear vision of market direction and are focused on preparing for that, but they can still improve in terms of optimizing service delivery.

“Companies today find themselves in an era where efficiency, accountability and responsiveness are top corporate imperatives. To meet these goals, enterprises must promote consistency and confidence in their underlying information assets and processes, and have an in-depth understanding of how those assets relate to one another,” said Gaurav Dhillon, president and CEO of Informatica. “With Informatica SuperGlue, organizations can benefit from enhanced corporate agility, greater confidence in their data and increased cost savings. We are pleased that Gartner has recognized this newly introduced product in the visionary quadrant for metadata management.”

Informatica SuperGlue is the first enterprise metadata management solution that integrates metadata from disparate systems, and offers visualization and analysis capabilities for enhanced understanding of an organization’s IT environment. With SuperGlue, IT and business decision makers can achieve cross-system visibility that enables rapid impact assessment as changes occur in the business, investigation of the origins of the data driving business decisions, and better identification of information asset redundancies.

“We chose to participate in the early adopter program of the Informatica SuperGlue solution for the breadth of metadata sources it supports as well as its tight integration with the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform,” said Tom Bakewell, director of applications at Brocade. “We anticipate that it will help us reduce the amount of time and resources needed to conduct impact analysis, as well as eliminate redundancies in information definition.”
