Informatica Again Named One Of “10 Most Influential” Companies By Computer Business Review
Informatica advances two positions for "grand vision" and technology that is "deeply embedded in the enterprise"
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.,
July 7, 2004—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration software, today announced that Computer Business Review (CBR) has for the second year in a row selected Informatica as one of the ten most-influential companies in the data integration market. Stating that "it is a good time to be in the integration business," CBR recognizes Informatica's "grand vision" and "staying power," declaring that "Informatica continues to advance the state of the art for data integration software."
Last year, CBR ranked Informatica number seven on its list of most-influential integration software companies. This year, Informatica advanced to number five. According to CBR, "data, application and process integration is becoming paramount for success," and that "business issues such as corporate governance and enterprise transparency now play directly to (Informatica's) strengths."
"With a major overhaul of PowerCenter under its belt and a grander vision for delivering integration as a shared set of 'universal data services,' Informatica continues to advance the state of the art for data integration software," said Madan Sheina, principal analyst at Computerwire. "The acquisition of Striva is a strategic move for the company, ensuring critical mainframe data integration is not neglected. And the release of SuperGlue reaffirms Informatica's metadata management competencies. Overall, Informatica lays a strong enterprise foundation for an adaptive infrastructure that pulls together its stack of data integration and BI products."
"With integration increasingly ranking as a top priority for many CIOs, we continue to witness a broadening and deepening demand for innovative enterprise data integration solutions," said Gaurav Dhillon, president and CEO of Informatica. "It's always an honor to be recognized by CBR, but we're particularly pleased that the publication recognizes how well "embedded" Informatica is within the enterprise and how well positioned the company is technically for continued leadership."
The "Top Ten" is selected by a team of seasoned technology analysts and journalists who nominated, debated and finally ranked their choices for the most influential people and vendors in the technology industry, in Computer Business Review's "Top 10 Most Influential Special Issue," published in print on June 30, 2004.
