Informatica Appoints Byung-Jae Kang As Vice President, Asia Pacific

Former member of Oracle's Asia Pacific management team brings strong track record in growing large international markets

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., November 8, 2004—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration software, today announced the appointment of Byung-Jae ("BJ") Kang as vice president of Asia Pacific.

"We are pleased that BJ has joined Informatica to lead the growth of our business in the Asia Pacific region," said Sohaib Abbasi, president and CEO of Informatica. "Our growing partnerships, including the recently announced partnership with Digital China, and our expanding local presence underscore our commitment to this strategic market.  We will benefit from BJ's wealth of experience as we grow Informatica's business and further gain market share in the Asia Pacific region."

As a regional managing director for 13 years, Kang was instrumental in growing Oracle's Asia Pacific division to over $1 billion in revenue.  Kang founded Oracle Korea and, as managing director, grew the organization from inception to $200 million in annual revenues and 900 employees.  During his tenure, Oracle Korea met, or exceeded, revenue-growth targets for more than 40 consecutive quarters.  As a result, Oracle achieved one of the highest market share leadership positions in Korea.

"I am very excited to join Informatica," said Kang. "With its leading technology products, Informatica is distinctly positioned to address the growing customer demand for a broader data integration platform.  I look forward to helping establish Informatica as the market leader in Asia Pacific."

Prior to Oracle, Kang was an areas sales manager for ComputerVision in Korea and the Philippines.  Kang began his professional career at Russell Electric, where he held technical and management positions.

Kang obtained a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Hanyang University in Korea, and a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from Cooper Union in New York.
