Informatica Remains Global Marketshare Leader In ETL, Says Leading Analyst Firm

Industry report points to expanded footprint of data integration outside of traditional data warehousing

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., November 28, 2005—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration software, today announced that the company has been named the worldwide revenue market leader in ETL for the fourth year in a row in Gartner’s November 14, 2005 report, “Market Share and Forecast: ETL Tools, Worldwide, 2004-2009.”  According to the report, Informatica captured 25 percent of the ETL market, highlighting a strong revenue increase of 10.8 percent from 2003.

In the report, Gartner states: “The ETL market experienced stronger than expected growth in 2004 and the first half of 2005 as it began to evolve into a market of multipurpose data integration platforms suitable for use beyond the traditional domain of business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing.”  Gartner also noted that “Organizations are beginning to reconsider the costs and challenges of integrating data through custom coding.  As a result, they are looking for commercial data integration software to automate data warehousing, data migration, data consolidation, master data management and data synchronization.”
