Informatica On-Demand Data Integration Makes Inroads into Software-As-A-Service Market

Expanding Service Provider Partner program and general availability of PowerCenter Connect for salesforce.com mark key milestones

DREAMFORCE, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.,, October 11, 2006—Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), a leading provider of data integration software, today announced early customer and partner participation in its Informatica On-Demand initiative, a pioneering software-as-a-service (SaaS) program enabling cross-enterprise data integration.  Informatica’s Service Provider Partner Program, launched in May 2006, now includes a dozen partners focused on SaaS and business process outsourcing.  Recent advancements also include the general availability of Informatica PowerCenter Connect for salesforce.com, a product offering that allows customers to seamlessly integrate data stored in Salesforce with data residing within their enterprises.

“We are excited by the high level of support and growing market traction we are experiencing with Informatica On-Demand, reflected in the interest in PowerCenter Connect for salesforce.com and our expanding partner ecosystem,” said Brian Gentile, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Informatica.  “At the same time, Informatica is committed to strengthening its existing relationships with strategic partners, such as salesforce.com, to ensure customers leverage industry-leading data integration capabilities in their SaaS environments.”

Informatica’s expanding partnership with salesforce.com is evidenced by Informatica’s membership in the newly announced Apex Alliance, which includes a select group of salesforce.com customers, industry partners, and venture capital firms who share a common vision of the benefits of the on-demand computing model and multi-tenant application development delivered through the new salesforce.com Apex platform and programming language.

Expanding Informatica Service Provider Partner ecosystem
Informatica has expanded its Service Provider Partner Program to 12 members, adding service providers that work closely with customers on broad SaaS implementations.  New Service Provider Partners with expertise in salesforce.com implementations and integration include:  Bluewolf, an enterprise consulting company that specializes in the deployment of salesforce.com's on-demand applications; and OKERE, a management and technology consulting firm for on-demand business applications.

Other new Service Provider Partner members include Market2Lead, a leading provider of demand generation effectiveness solutions; SignalDemand, a leading provider of price and promotion optimization solutions; and Xactly, a leader in automated on-demand sales compensation management.

“As SaaS becomes increasingly mainstream, customers will benefit from a flexible and efficient data integration solution that can easily access, migrate and synchronize data between their SaaS applications and on-premise applications,” said Dr. Jimmy Duan, vice president of client services at Xactly.  “Informatica's offerings for both enterprise and on-demand data integration will enable our customers to integrate Xactly's leading on-demand sales compensation management solution to their backend applications and disparate data sources more quickly and streamline the process of business operations.”

Early acceptance of PowerCenter Connect for salesforce.com
Announced in May and generally available in September, 2006, PowerCenter Connect for salesforce.com already has more than a dozen early adopters, including Affymetrix, Brocade Communications Systems and PowerData.

“PowerCenter Connect for salesforce.com was instrumental in the rapid and successful migration of our in-house customer contact system to salesforce.com,” said Juan Ońate, general director, PowerData, a European-based provider of IT, professional services and training, specializing in data management.  “We leveraged Informatica’s data integration capabilities to migrate with confidence while going live with salesforce.com well within our projected timeline.”
