PowerExchange for Enterprise Applications
Access and integrate application-managed data
PowerExchange provides high-performance, uniform access to all major enterprise and packaged applications, whether the applications are on-premise, outsourced, or hosted Software as a Service (SaaS). Organizations can use PowerExchange to integrate application packages automatically and cost-effectively, by extracting and loading data through vendor-supported application-level interfaces. Data can be exchanged among applications to support application synchronization, application migration, and application consolidation.

Benefits
Reduce business risk Some enterprise applications prohibit direct access to application-managed data; others permit it, but use complex schemas that make it difficult and costly to access. Errors are typically difficult to locate and can damage the data that is the very foundation of the organization-offsetting the gain expected from accessing and integrating the application. PowerExchange eliminates the risk of typical errors and preserves the value of the operational data store.
Enhance organizational agility As organizations grow they often find that the enterprise applications they depend on become inflexible. Mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and new regulations can make previously useful applications inhibitors to the kind of agility any organization needs. As organizations turn to off-premise SaaS as a way to improve flexibility, the difficulty of integrating SaaS-based data with data managed in-house often works against them. By unlocking complex applications, wherever they reside, PowerExchange enables an organization to develop the agility it needs to survive.
Decrease development cost Sophisticated enterprise applications deliver considerable value to their users, but at the cost of complexity. Whether the application supports APIs, or permits access through a schema, it is expensive to develop, test, and deploy home-grown access capabilities even in the best of circumstances. The skills needed to accomplish this are not always available, and seldom are they easily affordable. PowerExchange eliminates the need for costly development skills by presenting an easy-to-use graphical view of the application, driven by application-layer metadata, for on-premise and hosted applications alike.
