Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ: INFA), the world's number one independent leader in data integration software, now offers Universal Data Replication through the expansion of its existing product portfolio, giving customers more options to meet their diverse business continuity, big data and operational data integration needs.
Data replication is the process of real-time data sharing to ensure consistency between redundant database resources to improve reliability, fault-tolerance, latency and accessibility. A part of the Informatica Platform, Informatica's new data replication technology includes Informatica Fast Clone which automates the cloning of application data and Informatica Data Replication which manages the capture, routing and delivery of high-volume transaction data across diverse systems in real time with minimal source system impact.
In the big data arena, high-speed cloning and replication of big transaction data into new-generation analytic appliances including EMC Greenplum, HP Vertica, IBM Netezza and Teradata will help customers more rapidly derive business value from the exploding volumes of data in today's transactional systems such as IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL, Oracle and legacy databases. Additional use cases include faster, less costly database migrations with zero downtime, mirroring of operational data for continual access during maintenance and upgrade cycles, active data warehousing with more up-to-date information, and live transactional auditing with a full audit trail of every transaction event.
"Vertica was built from the ground up to address the needs of Big Data, and a large part of making Big Data useful is the ability to access that information quickly and effectively," said Colin Mahony, VP of Products and Business Development, Vertica, an HP Company. "With Informatica's data replication products, our users have a powerful new solution for quickly passing large amounts of data from legacy systems into the Vertica Analytics Platform for real-time analysis. Our customers are already using this solution to more easily realize the promise of Big Data, and find those unique insights hidden in the massive amounts of data they generate on a daily basis from myriad source systems."
Data Replication is uniquely suited to the realities of today's enterprise information environments, providing high-performance log-based capture and delivery of big transaction data, innovative techniques to optimize operational reporting and active data warehouse loading and rapid time-to-value. Informatica recently acquired WisdomForce Technologies, an innovator in Data Replication, with more than 100 enterprise customers including CVS, Dressbarn, BANCAJA, Caixa de Cataluña Bank, Fortis, Lafarge and Ross Stores.
"Informatica Fast Clone and Informatica Data Replication expand Informatica's addressable market, advancing our leadership in data integration and adds momentum to our drive to unleash the business value of big data," said Sachin Chawla, senior vice president and general manager, Data Integration, Informatica. "Combined with our existing Cloud Replication, PowerCenter Real Time and PowerExchange Change Data Capture (CDC) products, our Universal Data Replication capabilities offer our customers more choice to fit their needs that range from replication with sophisticated transformation to fast bulk replication. Virtually all organizations consider business continuity and improved operational reporting to be highly important and we are now better armed to support those initiatives."
Informatica will host an Introduction to Informatica Data Replication webinar on August 16th at 9.30am PT where we will provide a short demonstration and answer questions on the new products.
