Schneider Electric’s Data Drives Energy Tech
With Informatica's MDM and Cloud Data Integration solutions, Schneider Electric has modernized its data architecture to reduce data duplication, improve agility and support cloud analytics, customer experience and regulatory alignment.
Powering service transformation with trusted install base data
Schneider Electric is a global leader in energy management and automation with operations in 100+ countries and over 160,000 employees. As a pioneer in sustainable energy transformation, the company's visionary mission is showcased by its “Your Energy Technology Partner” positioning, which exemplifies their commitment to electrifying, digitizing and automating every industry, business and home to drive efficiency and sustainability for all. Recognizing that accurate, real-time data is critical to its service-led strategy, Schneider Electric set out to transform its install base data infrastructure to ensure that trusted, reliable information powers its expanding service-based offerings. This service-first approach demanded precise visibility into customer installations across all facilities and a single source of truth. By eliminating fragmented and duplicate data, Schneider Electric positioned itself to accelerate decision-making, streamline operations and deliver proactive, data-driven services at enterprise scale.
Schneider Electric selected Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform for its scalability, flexibility and robust Data Governance capabilities. It proved particularly well‑suited to manage the company’s vast install base, hundreds of millions of records spanning global operations, offering the performance and scalability needed to unify data at this scale with confidence.
“We chose Informatica IDMC because it aligned with our strategic need for a scalable and flexible platform that could support complex data governance. Its capabilities helped us accelerate time to market and build a trusted foundation for our install base data,” said Frederique Emery, Vice President of Services for the Digital Customer Relationship Organization at Schneider Electric.
Building a scalable and flexible data foundation
Schneider Electric developed a master data management solution built on Informatica’s Multidomain MDM, which is named internally as IB360. This acts as a single source of truth, integrating seamlessly with Schneider’s extensive existing ecosystem to power both internal operations and customer-facing experiences. It enables teams to track, manage and optimize their service, sustainability and decision-making processes throughout the entire life cycle of each asset. They also deployed Informatica Cloud Data Integration to improve asset visibility and quality. Other partners are cohesively integrated into the Schneider Electric ecosystem, such as Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Google and Oracle, promoting unified workflows and interoperability.
“Our goal was to create a unified, trusted view of our installed base to support better decision making and customer service,” says Martí Ganduxé, Senior Manager for Install Base Capability at Schneider Electric. “Building IB360 on Informatica’s Multidomain MDM allowed us to modernize our data architecture, reduce data duplication and improve agility—making install base data a true business enabler.” This approach ensures that trusted data supports both internal operations and customer-facing experiences effectively.
IB360 connects to numerous systems with a constant flow of daily assets, requiring robust infrastructure that grows with business needs (expanding at 11% per year). This demanded a platform that could scale seamlessly without affecting performance. Informatica's cloud-native architecture, running on AWS, provides the scalability and reliability needed to handle hundreds of millions of records while maintaining real-time processing capabilities. The AWS cloud foundation enables elastic scaling, high availability and global reach to support Schneider Electric's worldwide operations.
The implementation process was smooth, with AWS simplifying deployment and reducing operational costs, while Infoverity's certified team ensured expert implementation and long-term support. Infoverity, as a key implementation partner, demonstrated exceptional expertise in deploying Informatica's MDM solution and ensuring optimal performance across Schneider Electric's global operations.
They have also deployed Informatica Cloud Data Integration, unified with Salesforce, alongside AWS and SAP to improve asset visibility and quality.
Delivering measurable business benefits
Informatica's MDM solution has enabled Schneider Electric to:
- Lower system data replication batch process time from 8-16 hours to near real time.
- Generate revenue opportunities by turning install base insights into actionable leads within the CRM, helping their sales team identify and pursue opportunities more effectively.
- Improve customer service by giving their Customer Care Center (CCC) a unified view of each asset, enabling more informed responses to customer issues.
- Reduce data duplication, improving data quality and reliability.
- Accelerate data use, enabling faster processes.
- Enable predictive, data-driven decisions.
These improvements have delivered measurable impact across Schneider Electric’s operations, paving the way for smarter decisions and new growth opportunities.
“This platform has led to faster data use, improved quality and reduced duplication, resulting in greater efficiency across digital and business processes. These outcomes have helped us unlock new revenue opportunities, improve customer service and strengthen data-driven decision making,” Frederique Emery explains.
Beyond technology: Shaping the future
The collaboration between Schneider Electric and Informatica extends beyond technology. “What truly makes the difference is the partnership and strong collaboration between Schneider and Informatica teams. This strategic partnership, the human expertise, all the people that have worked on it, enable smarter decisions and better services. It has a real impact,” Frederique adds.
Transitioning from project implementation to ongoing support was a critical phase, with Informatica’s global support and customer success teams providing responsive, committed assistance.
Schneider Electric looks to expand IB360 with new entities and is exploring Informatica’s CLAIRE AI engine as a conversational capability to make data more accessible, improve productivity and support data-driven decisions. “We bring data and AI to life with our trusted install base data; we cannot use AI and activate CLAIRE without that data. What truly makes the difference is to have the right information at the right time that I can pick up, and with that support, the right process,” Frederique explains.
As Schneider Electric looks to strengthen its energy technology leadership, the company is focused on scaling innovation and improving accessibility across its global operations. For them, trusted data is the foundation for scalable AI, innovation and sustainable growth. “We are expanding with new entities and exploring AI conversational capabilities to make data more accessible, improve productivity and support faster, insight-driven decisions,” says Frederique.
